3 Things I’m doing differently in 2019

*mic on*

Hey Y’all. I haven’t officially said hi and happy new year have I. Everyone has been coming out with their word of the year, a phrase of the year, a song of the year, new me a new look of the year, etc. I’m over here like…I just started writing 2018 on stuff how can it be 2019. This year I want to keep it simple with 3 things that I will do differently this year. Let me start off with my word of the year which is ME. Yes, my word of the year is ME.

3 Things I’m doing differently in 2019

Take an online course.

I will focus on one new task a month and build my library of learning from there. This month I am doing SEO. Trying to learn how to maximize the Yoast plugin better, learn how to find better key words, and just keep that button on green. Next month I plan on learning lightroom better so my pictures can be that fire. In March I want to learn how to brand better and truly take It’s Really Kita to a new level. I think people should always be willing to learn new things and it doesn’t cost a lot to do so. There are many online courses you can take for as little as 10 bucks. There are many free youtube videos up that give great content. The library is also free and if one is open near you take advantage of it and learn a new skill.

Put more pictures of me up

I can hear y’all now. Kita why aren’t there many pictures of you up? Let me keep it real. I hate how I look. Now I know people say but Kita you are fine or Kita stop it. Please for the love of gawd stop telling me how I should feel about my looks. I don’t like how I look point blank period and that is a shoe that I have to walk in. I am getting better with the chest up pictures so I will share more of those. Full body pictures will be a no for now at least until I feel comfortable. I want to lose some weight before I show the full body. Instagram will still get side pics and blocked pics  (something is blocking my face) for now. If you truly want to see who I am my blog and my newsletter is where it’s at.

3 things i'm doing differently in 2019

Less me on social and on the blog

So if you are a regular here you may have noticed that I have had fewer blog posts than what I usually have. I was doing 3 blog posts a week Mon., Wed., and Fridays. Now I just blog whenever I feel I have something to say. I can guarantee one post a week but that’s about it. I won’t be on social media as much these days. Less time on social and more time forming true friendships with people who don’t even know what a blog is. I love blogging and won’t give it up but it’s time to focus on me this year. My newsletter which use to come out every week will now only come out once or twice a month. I am no longer doing the Project 365 (I do it every other year) so less time spent on Instagram.

Focusing on me this year also requires me to check myself on a few things. I have a lot of negative thoughts that run through my head. I am still grieving over some folks. Finding my purpose is something I want to work on. Either way this year is all about me and what I truly want. Accepting no less than what I deserve.

What are you working on for 2019?

I like #3 the most! You go girl making a change. First step is realizing it and you are there. We can get so wrapped up in the virtual world that we miss out on true real life connections. If the World Wide Web was gone, would we still feel valuable? These are questions we should be asking ourselves.

We all have our own paths to walk, I wish you one that brings you more self love and acceptance but i like the idea of continuing to learn something new.

But I have a lot of plans for the year so I started an accountability group to keep me on track

I don’t enjoy photos either. I am bigger than I’d like – and getting bigger it seems (eating chocolate as I type), but it is what it is. I think this year I’ll work on not eating chocolate in bed at 10 pm, and try to write more on the blog than on Facebook.

      Same, same.

#3 is interesting. I’m reworking my strategy in regards to my social media content and how much I blog. Let’s see what happens. Good luck with your goals.

Yes to everything on your list but especially #3. Here’s to focusing more on you. As for me, reclaiming simplicity is my focus.

Taking courses is brilliant! I’m 100% down for learning new things & improving on new things. I also love that you are growing comfortable with your looks by posting more pictures of yourself! I’m stepping more and more out my comfort zone and studying marketing for 2019!

Love these! Last year I was trying to write a recap post and noticed I didn’t have many pictures of myself, so I have committed to taking more pictures of myself! And blogging more, last year I didnt have a schedule so I am trying to get back into blogging on a schedule.

Nothing wrong with taking time for YOU. Congratulations on choosing to choose yourself and NOT APOLOGIZE FOR IT! I hope that you accomplish all 3 goals and realize that doing this self-care was the best choice you could’ve made for yourself.

Love how you’re changing things up for 2019. I have a version of this, but for me, it’s no more online courses, and continue my social media hiatus. So with you on the spending less time on the blog – it’s so consuming sometimes isn’t it?

First off I love every bit of your honesty!! Why can’t we all be like that?!

I haven’t picked a word, song or theme for 2019. I’m just going with what I feel and digging in deeper in what triggers my insecurities. Taking a break from social media is definitely a must. We get so consumed with what others are doing and the comparison trap it will drive us (me) crazy.

I’m so with learning something new. Did you take those classes and if so how did you like them? I want to sign up for the HTML classes and maybe a few photography classes but haven’t done so just yet.

That pic of you on this post is gorgeous!
