What I learned this summer + Fall Goals

You hear people say all the time manifest what you want in life. Write it down or speak it and it will surely happen. Well, that has not happened to me. I was lazy this Summer and then bam here comes fall and I have to get some goals knocked out. There are a few things I did learn over the Summer while being lazy because as I always say when you sit still and do nothing all kinds of things go through your head some good…and some bad. So what did I learn this Summer? Let me tell you 3 things then I will manifest some things as they say and have my Fall goals written down on here.

What I learned this Summer

Money Lesson

I spent a lot of time with the kids and one of the topics that we talked about all Summer was money. I kept telling them I didn’t have any money and that I was broke. They said they didn’t believe me but I was. You see my bills were paid but I didn’t have any extra money. My extra money comes in the form of sponsored blog posts or photoshoots. Since I didn’t do anything this Summer I didn’t make any extra money to do fun stuff. We did, however, play a lot of board games and one of those games was monopoly.  You see Monopoly can teach you a lot about money if you really look at it. Collect rent which is a great way to generate steady income, invest in companies mainly ones that will always be around like utilities, food, etc and always pay your taxes. Always because uncle sam will come for you like he is currently coming for me.  The main lesson I think Monopoly also taught me was that I need to take advantage of free parking but understand that it’s just a resting place.

Your network = your networth

Network with the folks next to you. Use the folks who are right next to you. Folks always want Oprah to give them some word of the day or look to people who are huge to help them build. What about your best friend who wants to go in the same direction you want to go in? How about your neighbor who always talks to you about the same dreams and ambitions that you have? How about using those kids that you have? My friend and I have conversations all the time about how to get to this money not realizing we need to use each other to get to the money so we are working on a business plan together. Not to go into business together but to achieve the same type of business on our own terms using the same resources. Who you surround yourself with matters. I realized this Summer that I am surrounded by folks who don’t want to go anywhere and achieve nothing and I need to be surrounded by folks that are Hungry.

Nobody cares

Most people don’t care unless it concerns them. We think folks out here caring what we do or say and they don’t. I am coming to the conclusion that if things don’t directly affect my money or my kids then I don’t put any effort into having it take up space with my time. God cares that’s who I trust and believe in and that’s all that matters to me.  Folks got their own lives and problems going on they will listen to you but when they don’t do anything more to help you get over it. It’s not being mean it’s just that folks got so much going on that they just don’t care to add on any more problems.

Those are my 3 thins that I learned this Summer. Now on to my goals for myself for the Fall.

Fall Goals

I don’t set to many goals because I want to make sure I accomplish them. I have two goals.

  1. To improve my photography. I want to get better so I will be taking more classes and possibly working with a mentor to help me improve my skills. I want to be a brand photographer and I want to at least expand. I also need to do the work. I think sometimes we want to be things but we don’t put the effort in all the way. I have been taking a lot of family photos which I love but I want to be a brand photographer and do more branding so I want to make sure I work on bringing that to the forefront more this Fall.
  2. Learn more about investments. How money works. What to invest in. I am decent with money but I want it to grow so that my grandchildren never have to worry. I want to create generational wealth. I am going to put my head down and get into investments.

Those are my two goals this Fall. Along with that I want to be able to network more and get out of the house at least twice a month. I also want to have better blog posts that truly bring you information that you can use.

So what are your goals this Fall? Do you manifest things? Have anything you wrote down or spoke on come true?

I want to learn more about investing as well. There are so many options out there but I really need to research so that I know which one will best for me and my family on a long-term basis. My goal for Fall is work on getting back to being consistent.
