It's Life

Every thought has a power. What are you focusing on?

Do you believe that if you manifest something and put words to it or write it down that it will come true? Do you believe in the power of words? I use to think that words had no meaning but I realize now that I’m older, they do. Since 2020 has been such a hard year I want to focus on the things I can control. Focus on the goals that I can reach. To help me with that I either read a good book or watch a movie that speaks to me. Sometimes when we see things in movies (I’m a visual girl) we understand it better. We grasp the meaning a bit better and it sticks with us more. I was able to check out The Secret Dare to Dream written from the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. Check out a clip of the movie and I will tell you what I learned from the movie and how I am changing my thoughts for the rest of 2020.

The Secret Dare to Dream

My thoughts on the movie

I related to this because I am a widow. Being a widow we have kids to take care of, jobs to work, and a home to take care of. I thought the movie did a great job of portraying the debt that is left to some of us who don’t have things in order. I was her because when my hubs died I didn’t know how I was going to survive. Bill collectors were calling and I was robbing peter to pay paul. The movie did a great job of showcasing how your thoughts can attract good things if you let it. How things always happen for a reason and how sometimes love comes out of nowhere. I do believe things happen for a reason and sometimes we don’t understand that reasoning until we look back at it and say wow if that didn’t happen then this wouldn’t have happened.

Josh Lucus who played Bray is a favorite of mine. He was the coach in one of my all-time favorite movies Glory Road. I knew I had seen him before but couldn’t place him. Of course, we know Katie Holmes who I haven’t seen in a movie in a minute. They both did a great job of making me believe in love again and letting me know that there are still good people out there.

Some favorite lessons from the movie

  • Your thoughts attract things that you can’t see but it’s real
  • You get what you expect
  • Whatever happens, even bad stuff can lead to better things
  • People help…because they can. Don’t question it
  • Don’t be with someone that doesn’t make you happy.
  • People are in your life for a reason. No one crosses path with you for nothing
  • Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous < My favorite from the movie. It was an aha moment

Overall the movie was fun and relatable and the best part is trying to figure out what’s in the envelope? Can you guess before you watch the movie? If you want to see this film make sure you check it out!

The Secret Dare to Dream

Changing my thoughts for the rest of 2020

I tend to not believe in good things because good things never happen to me. When you live a life where bad things always happen (which is prevalent in the movie) you tend to expect it more than the good. I want to try changing my thoughts from here on out. Every time something negative comes in my head I want to combat it with good. I want to write down 1 good thing that happened to me daily and I want to write down 3 things I want to see happen for the rest of this year. Also, I don’t want to get disappointed when those things don’t come true. That means it wasn’t supposed to happen and better things will come to me. Always find the good even in the bad. That is my motto for 2nd half of this year.

Will you check the movie out? Tell me some good things that have happened to you this year

I was able to preview this movie before the release date. All opinions are my own.

Thank you for introducing me to this movie. I truly need it for the 2nd half of this crazy 2020. Words are very powerful, my issue is wholeheartedly believing that the good things will actually happen. I need to work on the disappointment that comes when it’s not received.
