Spend your Spring Break in a small town

If you’re like me and like to mix it up from time to time, you probably like to seek out smaller towns rather than larger ones when going on trips. Spring break is well-known for family trips or just vacations in general. All the top cities are packed full of families and young people wanting to get away for a bit. Personally, I don’t like dealing with overcrowded cities, especially when I’m looking to take a break, therefore, I like to seek out smaller towns full of magic to visit instead. This offers a more relaxing and less busy getaway. Below is a list of a few small towns you might like for your next little vacay. Here is how to spend Spring break in a small town.

Spend your Spring Break in a small town

Lake Placid, NY – You may have heard of the movie with the same name, but I assure you that the town has no such horrors. It’s a beautiful little town tucked away just waiting for the nature lover.

Sonoma, CA – If you’re a wine lover like me, you’ll adore this small town in California. It’s a quaint town you might not quite expect of such a bustling state as Cali.

Mooresville, AL – The history of a town can be captivating and that’s definitely true of Mooresville, Alabama. The entire town, which contains around 60 residents, is registered in the National Registry for Historic Places.

Beaufort, SC – This is a waterside town with so much charm, you won’t know what to do with yourself. It gives a taste of the upscale so you don’t have to miss out on the feel of a larger city if you don’t want to.

Ashville, NC – If you like breweries, an art scene, and a lovely southern feel, this is the town for you. I don’t know about you, but that’s my favorite kind of setup for a town!

Lewes, DE – Experience a Dutch feel of this waterside town as you kick back and relax in the perfect laid-back atmosphere of this charming city.

Bozeman, MT – If you are partial to a Yellowstone feel without having to deal with all the visitors, you will love this nature-rich small town in Montana.

Jackson, WY – Don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit Yellowstone, get in a ski trip, and countless other activities, all in the wonderful small town of Jackson. Check out the mountains while you’re there too!

Homer, AK – Alaska isn’t so bitterly cold the entire year which is a misunderstanding that happens often and might drive people away from choosing it as a vacation spot. Homer is a gorgeous small town with all the charm Alaska can offer. It’s even home to a show from the Discovery Channel!

Sedona, AZ – If you’ve ever visited Arizona, you know all about the heat and desert you will find there. However, there are parts of Arizona that are gorgeous not only mountain wise but green lush wise! Sedona is the perfect small town for you to get to see the best sides of Arizona.

It was so hard to choose which small towns to list. Since there are so many that I adore, I had to narrow it down and give you only ten. Don’t stop at my list, though, do a quick search and you will find a plethora of small towns across the US (and the world) that you’re sure to fall in love with.

I have heard of most of these places but haven’t been to any of them. I’ve heard Lake Placid is beautiful for so many years, I’d really like to get there one day.

Small towns should never be over looked. I know because I live in the country and all the towns around us are small. They are rich in history and beautiful places to visit.

I haven’t been to Beaufort since I was a kid. Asheville is an hour from us and I love it! We still haven’t made Spring Break plans.

I loved this! I live in a tourist town that is bombarded with spring breakers, and hate it! I love the idea of heading to a small town for the break.

I think small towns are the absolute best especially you want some peace and quiet. There are plenty to do there as well but my favorite would be trying out the local food and just walking around.

I like small towns because they usually have unique places to eat and explore. I need to add these to my travel lists for the future.

I grew up in a small town, moved to the city for years and several years ago, back to another small town. I’ll be spending next week in my small hometown in GA. I’m so excited!

I would love to go to any of these places! I prefer small towns with less people. I’m in San Antonio, and there’s too many dang people here.

A lot of these destinations I’ve never heard of, but they all sound great! I too hate dealing with the overcrowding that comes with visiting the popular big cities for breaks.

I would prefer a small town over a big city. You can enjoy without having to deal with big crowd.

I am not much for crowds so a small town would be great for me. I grew up in Portland, Oregon which seems to be bigger by the minute. A little escape to Sonoma, CA or Mooresville, AL would be a breath of fresh air!

Two other small towns to add to your list are Holland, Michigan as well as Lake Geneva, Wi. Lots of activities small town atmosphere and great nature. There is a tulip festival
In Holland where they have thousands of tulips around the city.

I absolutely love small towns. I’ve always wanted to move to one similar to where The Gilmore Girls lived. The thought of being able to walk everywhere and everyone knowing each other sounds so awesome to me.

I was born and raised in the city and still living in one. I am envious of people who have their roots in small towns. Some quiet little town they can come home to. Me and my husband are definitely moving out to the suburbs once we get into that empty nest phase.

There is something about a small town that I really enjoy. Typically they have incredible food, I like the hole in the wall type of establishments.

I absolutely LOVE the charm that small towns have to offer. I’ve decided this year to spend my spring break in Myrtle Beach…not quite sure it qualifies as a small town, but it definitely isn’t as daunting as a big city.
