10 Reasons you should fall in love with my blog

I took some time off last week to reflect. What does my blog sell was the question I got the other day? What do I do to get people to come to my blog? Some bloggers say they help millennial moms, some bloggers say they help women be their best self, some bloggers say they help you decorate your home, etc. As I looked at what others did I wondered so what does It’s Really Kita…really do. I wanted to go the single mama route but my friend was like nope you can’t say you were a single mom because you had a husband ok can’t go that route. I help people do what exactly? I have no idea what my blog does all I know is that I tell you what I’m going through and I hope something touches you in some way. So here are 10 reasons you should fall in love with my blog and maybe it will help you understand what my blog does.

Reasons you should fall in love with my blog

Reason 1 – I’m funny. I get that a lot. I don’t think that I am but if you want some laughter you should definitely check out my blog I guess. I truly don’t set out to make folks laugh I just tell the truth and for some reason, it comes off as me being funny. Like seriously I don’t think I’m funny at all but let others tell it I am.

Reason 2 – I am real. Maybe a little too real. What you will get from me is the truth. If I visit a restaurant I will tell you if you should go, what to avoid, and what to buy for your money. Many brands don’t work with me because I will not tell my readers oh get such and such product it’s all good if it ain’t. That’s why if I do work with a brand it’s a brand I actually like and will buy myself. Sometimes I do work with a brand that’s new and will give my honest opinion.

Reason 3 – I like the element of surprise. You might come over here and my theme was changed overnight, I might be on here talking about makeup, I might have a video of me on youtube up somewhere. You just never know what you will get over here. I like to keep people guessing and I never talk about just one thing. A lot of people have suggested I niche down. I won’t! I like to keep people guessing and not do the same ole same ole day in and day out. Expect the unexpected with me and my blog posts.

Reason 4 – I speak to people. If you are a long-time reader of my blog I know who you are. I will never ever let this blog get above me. I don’t let this blog thing get to my head. I will always speak (might not hug cause I’m not a hugger) but I will speak to you. Don’t you hate that some bloggers when they get big they act like they don’t know you anymore? Not over here!

Reason 5 – I show up. I love when I find a new blogger to follow only to find out they haven’t posted since February. Everything is on Instagram now. Don’t get me wrong I like Instagram but if I like you as a blogger I will add you to my Feedly and read you all the time. I won’t miss your latest post which I may miss if it’s up on Instagram. I blog consistently. I may take a week off from time to time to relax and stuff but for the most part, I have at least 2 blogs a week on my blog.

Reason 6 – I have a unique voice. My voice in these internet streets is different. I move differently in everything I do. Someone checked me on my blog a while ago saying that I wasn’t speaking correctly and I had to let them know that I am from Charleston, SC this is how I speak. Or rather I write how I speak sometimes. It’s a language called Gullah or Geechee for the young folk. I talk with an accent if you hear me on #kitainthedark and I also write in broken English. Get to know me before you come for me boo.

Reason 7 – I will make you cry. Crying is good for the soul. If you come over here you will do that with some of my posts. Especially my grief posts which if you have noticed I have written a lot about lately. Grief is hard and we all gotta go through it but we gotta stop running from it like it’s a disease. I have run from it myself for a while now it’s time to embrace grief and teach others how to deal with it.

Reason 8 – The eye candy is real. Sorry, Lashawn for using your word. My pictures are the bomb. Here is a secret though not all of them are my pictures. 80% is but I ain’t got time all the time to create photos for my own blog post lol. I will choose pictures though that tell the story of what the blog is about…most of the time.

Reason 9 – I listen to my audience. If my audience says they went to a spot that I put on my blog and it was nasty when they went I will make sure I update that post and put the date so my audience knows that when they read the original post they have something to fall back on if the food ain’t right. I also take into consideration of what you all want to see on this blog and I put more of that content on here. A lot of people are wanting to hear about teenage boys and as I go through it I will write about it.

Reason 10 –  It’s Really Kita. You don’t get a fake person but a real person. A person who has been to hell…I use to vacation there back in the day. I have been through a lot. A lot that I haven’t shared yet on this blog but I will. You may not see many pictures of me but you will get my voice on social media, in my newsletter, and definitely on this blog.
