Getting fit: I have the workout clothes now what?

I buy workout clothes to wear around town because I need a new collection to add to my sweats. I am not going to lie and say that I bought workout clothes to actually workout….I mean really yall know me better than that. But….there is a but…..I went to the Dr. the other day for a physical. I try to get one from head to toe at least every other year and the Dr. informed me that I am prediabetic. Not diabetic but pre…so your AC1 reading is supposed to be under 5.6 in order to be in the clear mine is right at 5.7. It was probably due to the Valentine Candy that I just ate for the past 2 days (I’m blaming it on the candy). Anywhoo…..the Dr. said that I needed to get under 200 lbs…I have until August (I can’t tell you my exact weight it’s embarrassing but let’s just say I need to lose at least 10 lbs a month until August) . I eat good my problem is I don’t move enough. Sitting behind a computer working all day will do that to you. I also need to get rest but that’s a story for another day. How will I stay committed….well first I will eat these 15 boxes of cookies that I ordered from girl scouts because I can’t waste my money…..ok that was a joke. I will give some boxes away to others (but I’m keeping 4). I am now putting my workout clothes to good use.

Putting my workout clothes to good use

I bought a workout bra to hold up my tittays (say it just like that tittays) and it was amazing what a good bra can do. Now I’m supposed to wear this bra and the pants but Y’all won’t be seeing my tummy today. I have all the workout gear like the clothes, the bra, and some weights but I don’t do anything with them so here is what I plan on doing……………..

putting my workout clothes to good use

First I will drink more water. I am up to almost a gallon a day. More than a half gallon but not quite a gallon. I can drink my water. I am actually used to that. If I do drink juice I cut it by adding water to it. I also don’t drink soda….now sweet tea is another story. I’m a southern girl what can I say!

putting my workout clothes to good use

Second I will walk more. My daughter came with me the other day when I went to the park and said mom I will be your coach because I want you to be healthy. So she and I walked around the park twice that day that’s 2 miles total.

The park had these little exerciseĀ things that you could do and I didn’t want my daughter touching it but I forgot IĀ did have hand sanitizer in my car so it was ok

I even got up and did one of the exercise things. It said pull up and hold for 3 seconds geesus that was hard.

Next, I will replace more meals with smoothies. I won’t lie I can’t make smoothies to save my life. Mine come out watery and stuff. I need a company that can just do the smoothies for me. If you know of any companies that send you smoothies via the mail let me know. I am tired of smoothie king and I need other options.

All in all I just need to move more. I remember back in the day when I was skintyĀ I use to eat all the food I wanted but I also moved. I went to the mall, I went out with my friends, I danced, I had to walk to my job and that was far. So I can eat what I want (in moderation) but I also need to move it. I am not on the fitness trend of having to do what everyone else does. I workout on my own terms and do what fits me. So many people start working out and then I see them with donuts 2 days after they workout. I don’t want to be that. I want to workout and have my donuts too!

How are you moving this year? Recommend me some smoothie recipes or a video to show me how to properly make smoothies so mine doesn’t come out watery. I need measurements and SHAT!

It is amazing how much exercise you can get by just making an effort to walk. I try to park my car at the end of parking lots and take the stairs when out and about to get extra steps in. Keep up your healthy habits. Good for you!

It’s nice that you’re taking little steps towards getting fit. It’s all about that first step that you take that triggers it all and urges you to move more as you see all the improvements in your health. Keep it up!

Walking for 30 minutes will do the trick. Combined with plenty of water intake this should work wonders. No need to sweat it out in the gym.

You can do it! It’s great that you don’t drink soda. I think that is like 99 percent of many people’s problem. Your water intake is great! Keep it up!

A bit off topic: I recently got two new bras in my correct size and I feel like my life is forever changed. Oh, the girls sit up at attention now honey. While I freaking love them it has caused me to realize that my gut needs work.

I have cute workout clothes but I haven’t worn them in over a year. I need to put this Chick-fil-a frosted lemonade down and get my workout life together.

I made a resolve that 2018 will be the year I will finally be more mindful of my diet. Being diabetic is not easy, especially if you have enjoyed sweet things most of your life. Now I am learning to enjoy black coffee with a dash of cinnamon. I also walk around the neighborhood every day, and I have leveled up my distance to walking 3 times around the block. Hope you get to reach your weight loss goal! You have such an adorable little daughter who volunteered her “services” as your coach!

Good luck on your new journey. For smoothies, I buy the frozen fruits and put them in the blender.. adding spinach, kale leaves every so often and I always add 2 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and sometimes some chlorophyll to it. I don’t add any other liquids to my smoothie. I think that helps keep it slushy and simple.

In February I started a simple workout plan that seems to be going well. Since there’s a gym at my workplace, I just make sure to spend 20 minutes a day in it. When you’re limited on time, boy do you find ways to “hit it” in the gym! The trimming and toning is my body is noticeable after only 1 month.

LOL @ “skinty”. It would be cool if there was a Hello Fresh type of place for smoothie ingredients. I have a some great smoothie recipes but it’s a pain to keep up with the ingredients AND cut them etc. I’ve never been smoothie organized but I think that’s the key, to have all your stuff ready to go. I’m going to email you a link to some recipes I’ve collected.
