My daughter has a SheCave

One of the things I want my kids to have is a nice space that is their own. Somewhere they can go to feel at peace and to wind down. Since this entire house is mine mine mine I figure I can share one room with these churn around here. My daughter is 11 and she loves to be in her room all day. I had her room decorated the way I wanted it decorated but she had other ideas. The other idea was all black with a bit of yellow. Hell to the no! So I gave up and hired B.E. Decors. She shares the same birthdate as my daughter so I let her deal with the black decor I wiped my hands clean of it. My daughter now has a she cave that is all her own. See it below and why I think it’s a great idea to let your kids make their own decisions without you interfering.

My daughter has a SheCave

I love that Lanada calls her brand the SheCave lady. It’s unique in a way that lets women have a place to wind down and have that space they deserve especially after all that we have to do and put up with. My she cave is my closet where I bring you Kitainthedark most nights so I’m glad my daughter has a place she can escape to also. Since I’m not the decor person it was nice to have someone with a good eye to go in and do a fabulous job. If y’all saw the room before whew…yeah let’s just say I needed all the help.

No black but she does have her other favorite color which is yellow. I love her room! It reminds me of when you go to tour homes you want to buy and they have the rooms decorated.

Can you tell which part of the room is her favorite?

Now my favorite part of the room is what’s up in the ceiling. Can we say fabulous!

I want this room to bring my daughter all the good vibes. I want to have a space she can feel safe in and a place that will take her well into her teens. I will not be changing her room again. Now don’t ask me where all the items came from because I have no idea lol. If you need the info though I can find out for you and give you all the details. I know y’all wanna know about that chair so here is the info for that!

I think it’s a good idea for kids to have some say so in what they want their rooms to look like. I have my ideas but they don’t always match my daughter’s ideas. We are two different people and I love to make sure she has a voice because so many times we as women don’t have that voice. I let her make decisions on her own within reason. Her room was done by her and Lanada without any input from me. Sometimes it’s ok to take a step back and let others who are experts lead the way.

I hope you like the room and now my daughter has her very own SheCave!

Can I move in?!!! Seriously, that room is beautiful. I love that you made sure you and your children have a place to escape. Until I finish decorating my room, my place to escape is my patio. Every time I go out there, I say “I’m going on vacation”; especially since we can’t travel the way we had planned.

I imagine the chair with the ottoman and yellow blanket would be a favorite spot to be on her phone or read. It all came out lovely!

Wow! Your daughter’s room is gorgeous and I agree with you, that light fixture is fabulous! When my daughter was a young teen she wanted black walls too. That didn’t happen but we did let her decorate her room.

BB’s sure she’s not minding being in her room all day! Matter of fact mom, being “sent to your room” in this case doesn’t seem like a punishment. ; ) Bella.
