Keep your hands off my thermostat + Wed Links

The hubs and I use to fight over the heat and air and now he left his son here for pure punishment because I have to argue with him just like I argued with the hubs. The difference is him don’t pay any bills. Keep your hands off my thermostat.

Keep your hands off my thermostat

I like heat. If you have been around for a while you know I keep my heat on year round. Yes, I have a heater on in the summer and I rarely keep my air on in the house. No worries I don’t sweat. I live around trees and I have fans so that keeps my house pretty cool. In the winter I keep my heater on in my bedroom at night. My son thinks he pays bills around here…

Me: *opens one eye* *why is my upstairs so cold…..goes to check my thermostat and it is on 72 air

Me: *calls the boy* Get your butt up this stairs. Did you touch the air?

Son: Me?

Me: No you

Son: Maybe Zaza touched it. Why do you always blame me for stuff? She is bad to you know

We go back and forth for about 2 minutes

Me: Don’t touch my thermostat you and your sister. Ain’t none of y’all paying bills around here.

Son: Mom you aren’t the only one that lives here you need to be respectful of others who stay here

Me: you are right. I should have better manners.

I wait until they went to bed and blasted the air on 69…and then I waited like the evil mother I am

Son: *gets up in about 2 hours* Mom Mom it’s so cold can you please turn the heat on

Me: Nooooo I want to respect your need for air so suffer. *evil laugh*

I have my heater on in my room so I was warm and toasty.

I think i’ve said it before either on your blog or on FB, I would PASS OUT in your house. It’s 61 degrees out now. The house is kind of leftover chilly but it was a warm day. Would you have the heat on? If so I would DIE.

Haha, hilarious. I’m from Detroit and used to live in Chicago so I Overstand. I’m now based in the Middle East so don’t really have this issue anymore lol.

I had similar wars with my parents coming up. They were adamant about not turning it up and we learned to layer.

Let me tell you in my mommas house growing up that was a big NO No to never touch her thermostat. Even as an adult if I am at the house I will not touch it now!!

It’s unusually cold in Southern California, so I have been keeping my heater on more often. I wish I had central air in my house! I guess he won’t bother the thermostat anymore

This convo is hilarious, and exactly what I imagine will be happening with my son. I, too, am a cold natured person and love the heat. We keep it warm all year.

Hahaha! I enjoyed reading this post especially the part where the conversation occurred. It’s always good to to be careful with piling up the bills. It’s hard earned money afterall, kids will understand eventually

This is so funny. I remember as a kid always getting fussed at just like that and never understanding why my parents would be complaining about the bills. Until I started paying these bills.
