Where I’m from (Charleston,SC) we have a special dessert that is common among my culture. It’s called Brown Sugar Chewies. People ask me all the time what is it. It’s a combination of a blondie and a brownie but Charleston style. It’s good and it’s one of my favorite desserts to make. My kids don’t like it with the nuts but me I have to have the pecans. If you don’t feel like making it you can always buy some. My mom didn’t give me the recipe for it before she died I had to beg some folks because this recipe is a staple in Charleston and people don’t want to give it away lol. I hope you enjoy these over the Summer and if you make them let me know how it was.

June 5, 2021 at 10:41 pmThanks for giving away the recipe! That’s how I feel the Louisiana folks are about pecan candy. I know how to make it very well for a South Carolina girl and I share it.
