This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own!

Interested in updating your home in one weekend? You totally can!

I am starting to update my home slowly but surely. I am trying to take one room at a time since I am doing this alone so I wanted to tell you about 8 projects I’m doing for the next 8 weekends that will update my home. These are easy to do and don’t require a long time. Here are a few projects I will be doing to update my home all in one weekend. Updating your home in one weekend is easy!

Updating your home in one weekend

Create an accent wall

Using a pop of color to paint over one wall in your chosen room can instantly transform an otherwise drab design. Painting a whole room can be messy and time-consuming, but limiting your paint job to just one wall is a savvy interior design move and saves you tons of work. You can also add in wallpaper on one wall or do stripes on one wall. There are many ways that you can create an accent wall.

Hang a new ceiling fan

Ceiling fans are great for times when you don’t need to run the air conditioner but definitely need air movement in a room. It’s as simple as replacing an existing light fixture, but there are some safety steps you’ll need to take. Figure out what celing fan design you want so that it matches the room. For example if your room is beachy get a fan that has palm trees and do it nicely.

Replace your door

Not many people think about updating the interior doors, but this can be a great way to give your home a fresh look. Consider replacing hollow core doors with a solid core to put a damper on noise. Also consider sprucing up the doors to a new color. A red door pops! You can also replace some doors with a barn door that gives rooms a different element.

Redo your cabinets

If adding new hardware wasn’t enough, stripping and staining your cabinets is a relatively easy and fast weekend project. This is definitely a more thorough way to update your kitchen, while still leaving your cabinetry intact.

Change the look of your fireplace

You don’t have to completely redo your old fireplace. There are very simple updates you can make that won’t take up too much time or cost too much money. Try repainting your mantle or adding molding for a fast and effective improvement. If your mantle needs replaced, pre-made mantles are a good idea, but you may need to add molding or paint it to give it a crafted look. I changed my fireplace from wood burning to an electric fireplace. This was very easy and took me only a few hours and it transformed my room.

Get decor

Some decor for the season would liven up any space. This can be done in one weekend if you know what you want and you have done some intel from the stores online. I am updating my bedroom this weekend and I have the color picked out and the items from each of the stores. All I have to do is go in and get what I need and then decorate!

Put up new curtains

Curtains can make a huge difference to a room. Putting them up is a job in itself especially when you aren’t good with measuring but it’s worth it. Make sure you measure lengthwise so you don’t have  long curtains that drag the floor to much or measure to make sure they aren’t short.

Step up your organization

Been wanting to clean out your pantry? How about under your sink? The garage for that matter. Take some time to get a plan together and buy some organization stuff for your food and items that need to be folded and put away. To be able to find what you need at any moment or to know what to buy at the grocery store when things run out is priceless.
