Unique Ways to Surprise Your Loved Ones

Welp, Valentine’s Day is upon us, which means it’s time to come up with unique ways to surprise your loved ones. Well, you can always go the traditional route as most are pleased with that as well. However, if you want to go extra special this year, you can go with something unique instead and jazz things up. Here are a few ideas for the different people in your life concerning Valentine’s Day.

Unique Ways to Surprise Your Loved Ones

A Spouse or Boyfriend/Girlfriend

Let’s face it after you’ve been married a while, Valentine’s Day loses its luster and not much is celebrated. If you want to change this feeling up and do something special for your spouse, try doing some of the following suggestions.

  • Take a cooking class, dancing class, or maybe even a martial arts class just that night
  • Go for a horse-drawn carriage ride – they’re not as expensive as you think and gorgeous
  • Try an extra special or fancy restaurant – one that actually requires reservations and a suit/dress
  • Surprise them by being intimate in a unique place or by using a unique move
  • Go classic and stay home, with wine, candles, and a home-cooked meal you made together
  • Try the opera, if it’s something you’ve never really done before
  • Go to a sip and paint night with wine and painting together
  • Go on a mini staycation or weekend getaway at someplace nearby
  • Setup a private wine tasting session in your home or at a vineyard
  • Rent a fancy sports car and go cruising
  • Have a night of trying all new foods – things you’ve never tried before
  • If you’re not overly wealthy, pretend you are for one nigh tclothes, restaurants, car testing, etc.
  • Buy a bunch of random seeds and plant them random places – you can even check some of the random spots over time to see if they grew anything
  • Get lost in your town or a nearby town – take roads you’ve never been down, visit stores you’ve never been in, etc.
  • Rent a boat

For the Kids

If you have kiddos, doing something special for them on Valentine’s Day is a must because they’re a huge love in your life as well. So, don’t forget them! Of course, you could just settle for candy, but why not do something a little more special or unique for them.

  • Take them to an art class
  • Do a private dinner and movie one-on-one with each child
  • Build the biggest blanket fort they’ve ever seen and hold a movie night inside it
  • Create a scavenger hunt just for them that involves going to a fun spot to hunt
  • Take them horseback riding
  • Go to a thrift store and pick out some ridiculous clothes and have a beauty show
  • Have a random birthday style party with fancy cake, presents, and the like just for you and them
  • Get a ton of fast food and just set it out on the table and feast it up
  • Hit up Youtube for some neat science experiment videos and try them out
  • Get a white bed sheet and some paints and let them go wild painting their own section
  • Get a bunch of cheap makeup and let the kids go crazy on you and each other
  • Do a fast-food crawl – sample something at each place
  • Play mad scientist for a day – go to the store with a budget for each kid and let them pick random ingredients to try and test together to see what they can make

There are so many fun and unique ideas you can opt for. You can even use the suggestions I gave and adjust them to better fit your kids, spouse, or significant other. Have fun with it and go unique, they’ll love the change!

I’ll keep these in mind for other days. My husband and I find Valentine’s Day to be silly. We exchange chocolate and leave it at that. The opera would frighten my husband, but we do like going to fancier restaurants now and again! And he’d love to rent a sports car.

It is time to rekindle the romance. I love the idea of a class together just to break up the monotony and start a spark.

These are great ideas. I do not believe in just buying something and giving a gift. Thought has to go into any action I do related to a holiday or a gift. And, I expect the same in return!

A fast food crawl! I love that idea for a “date night” with my teen. We love the fries one place and the chicken someplace else. How fun to combine them. Great ideas!

Such lovely ways to add a little extra spark into your relationship. My favorite day ever was when my husband took me to a nearby town for a romantic walk on the beach followed by a stop at the elephant ear stand. I’m a cheap date LOL.

These are some great ideas. This Valentine’s Day we’re staying at home. We’ll be cooking dinner and doing Diamond Art for the first time. I do like the idea of a horse drawn carriage ride, though.

My daughter and I love building big forts in the living room. I’m going to suggest we slide a mattress into the fort and camp out in it.
