Thank goodness for online grocery services

My grocery shopping days are over. OVA! I hate grocery shopping with every being in my body. To have to walk down each aisle pick up the groceries stand in long lines. I hate it! Imagine me having to do that when I had little ones and no babysitter geesus. That car grocery shopping cart was the only thing that kept them quiet but having to navigate that thing around the store…it wasn’t fun. So today they have all types of services that help out. I will talk about a few of them below, why this saves me time, what you should be aware of, and a tip to keep track of everything. I don’t know about you but I am always saying to myself thank goodness for online grocery services.

Thank goodness for online grocery services

Let’s run down my favorite first. Instacart!

Instacart is used by Publix, Aldi, and BJ’s in my area. I don’t shop at Aldi’s but for those who do this is a game changer. I shop at Publix the most and to have my groceries come to the door….priceless. Now it’s kind of expensive. I pay around 2 to 6 bucks per delivery plus a tip so I am usually shelling out a total of 12 bucks each delivery but to have it come to my door I will pay that. I know folks don’t like others picking out their groceries especially when it comes to fruits and vegetables but I had to get over it. Honestly, I can wash what I need to wash at home and if I have a problem I can always take it back to the store and get my money back. I have used Instacart now for about 6 months and order no less than twice a month and the only thing I had a problem with was my eggs being cracked. I now put a note in the comment section for my shopper and ask that they check the eggs (which should be common sense but not everyone has that) I am also specific with my order. I ask for ripe avocados, I ask that they get me juice that expires later, I ask that they get me a specific amount of sandwich meat, etc. Be specific in your order.

Next up is Walmart Pick up

So I do this for my dry goods only. I do not buy meat from Walmart. All of my boxed cereals and household items come from Walmart. I normally only have to do a pick up every 2 weeks. This saves me from having to stand in their long lines for hours upon hours. My gawd y’all that alone is worth it. It’s not extra I don’t think (I need to verify that on my receipts) but I think you just put in your order tell the time and go pick it up. It saves you a little money but it doesn’t come to your home. Kroger is the same. I haven’t been to Kroger in a min but you can also order online from them and then go pick it up. I may need to try them because they are a bit cheaper than Walmart hmmmm.

Concierge services

So I asked on my Instagram jokingly a few weeks ago if someone can go to the Farmers Market for me. The farmers market is far it’s about a 40 min drive from me. I love that they have fresh food such as meats, fruits, veggies, etc but…its far, it’s cold in there, and it stays packed. Like it doesn’t matter if you get there in the early mornings it’s packed. So someone answered me on Instagram and she said she offered the service. I hopped on that service immediately. So far she has done one run for me and it was perfect no complaints and I will be using her again.

Of course, if you have whole food near you Amazon is the place to get your stuff. I use to use Amazon for dry goods until they went up on their prices. Nope…Walmart is fine for that sorry Amazon you ain’t getting my coins for that.

Having someone else do the grocery shopping saves me time that I can spend on my business, my kids, or on me. I get it that you don’t want folks picking out your meat and veggies but with publix you won’t get bad meat and if you hire someone personally you can tell them what you want specifically. One of the biggest tips I can give to keep track of all of your food is to have lists on your fridge. So I have 2 lists on my fridge one for dry goods and one for meats. Whatever we run out of I add to the dry good list and then I make the other list the list for my food items that I will cook for the week.  I also add to my walmart cart online as I go so that when it’s time to pick up things everything is there. You can also do that with insta. If I need bread and cheese I will just add it to my instacart shopping cart and then add more and add more until it’s time for me actually purchase that way I’m not forgetting anything. Also, when I am better organized with my grocery lists I don’t have to keep buying the same things over and over again and I can keep my pantry organized.

So do you still grocery shop? Which one of the above would you use? Which one are you skeptical about?

Thank goodness for online grocery services

We’ve used all of these and another one I can’t remember at the moment. I use them when I can find a free delivery code. Those fees rack up.

We live out in the country so this type of service isn’t available for our family. My daughter has used pick up service before. Couple friends I know have used this service during the winter. Around here you have to have a minimum dollar order plus charge like 10.00 for service delivery.

I would LOVE to give this kind of service a try. I’m not a fan of rambling through the grocery store and spending all that time shopping and checking out.

I know a lot of people that would love this! Something where you can shop at home and it comes to you! As a busy mother this would be perfect for me!

I’ve heard about grocery services. I haven’t tried one yet. I actually like going to the grocery store and shopping for the stuff since I love food, so I’m not sure if I’d use them. I might one day though!

I love online grocery services! I do the Walmart pick up on some things. They’ve been good overall, but I’m like you, I don’t get meats there and I don’t do produce because sometimes it looks like a kid picked out the fresh produce and it’s not as fresh as when I get it myself.

A lot of my friends use these services to save time and love it. I like grocery shopping though. I can look for sales and unexpected mark downs.

I’ve been on the online grocery services bandwagon for more than a year. My favorite is Walmart Grocery Pickup. I tried Instacart and had a really bad experience and when Walmart doesn’t have any slots I do Kroger Grocery Pickup.

On line and delivery services are such great shop from home systems. I still do it the old fashioned way but I like to pick out my own produce and look for bargains.

I’m with you girl. Grocery shopping is for the birds; especially when you have a toddler. I don’t normally do the delivery grocery. However, I do the service where I just pick up the groceries. It’s called Shop rite from home from my local Shoprite grocery store. You order online and than at a scheduled time you go to the store , pull up in a spot and they put the groceries in the car for you. It’s a bit cheaper than having them delivered. I haven’t had an issue with them yet! I wasn’t a fan of Fresh direct or Jet. I had issues with both of my deliveries

I do grocery shopping all the time. It’s SO HELPFUL!! I like instacart but it’s a hit or miss for me! The only place I go to get food is the meat market. Other than that 100% online shopping.

I think it’s great that they have online grocery services as well. We are getting the Walmart one in our Walmart here soon too. They’re in the process of setting it all up. I can’t wait til they have it ready!

I personally likes online shopping too I don’t need to spend few hours of my weekend time just to do my shopping. That means I have more time for my family and for siesta time.

Walmart pick up saves my life! I have tried other grocery services but the added cost makes them harder to do all the time.

I have yet to try an online grocery service. I’d love to but we don’t drive so I think it would be tricky for us since all those around us we have to pick up! I wish they’d deliver!

I still grocery shop and it’s a time suck. I go to 3 different stores for basic shopping. I keep saying I’m going to outsource but I have not.

I will start with online shopping for paper towels and such. That is easy.

I have yet to really use a grocery concierge like that maybe a few times. I need to do it more often for little things.
