Set a bucket list for your business

Do you make it a habit to set goals and deadlines for your small business? If not,  you should. It is good practice. Before we enter into 2021, or better yet finish out the last quarter of 2020, create a bucket list for your small business this winter. Hare some suggestions on how to set a bucket list for your business.

Set a bucket list for your business

Set revenue goals

I know that the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has kind of made it difficult to generate income, especially when so many people have and are still losing jobs, but set your last quarter revenue goals and projections. Having benchmarks will motivate you in reaching them.

Hire Help

Even if it is just seasonal, statistics shows that you are more likely to scale your small business when you hire help. Outsource work, especially those incessant administrative tasks you don’t like, so you can focus on the overall business operations, including sales, to hit those revenue goals.

Partner with other businesses

As many business owners will tell you, it is just as important to network across as it is to network up. I know I know, you want to join the ranks of Fortune 500 executives and bosses. And you can get there one day, but find local businesses in their field and niche to partner on things like marketing, promotion and events for example.

Host a holiday event

Speaking of events, it’s not a bad idea to host one this winter. With the holidays right around the corner, now is the perfect time to put together a holiday theme festivity. Hosting an event, whether virtual or in-person, is a great way to position your company as a leader and get free publicity for those who participate and attend.

Use the holidays as a way to engage your customers and employees. Give them a reason to be happy to both establish and work for your organization.

Add perks and benefits

While most small businesses struggle to offer employees full-time positions and benefits, you may want to consider what other perks you can offer to keep employee morale high. Partnering with fellow businesses may come in handy here as well. How about employee discounts for products and services offered in house, or catering breakfast or lunch one day a month courtesy a local business you’ve connected with.

Here’s another example, partnering with a near-by parking lot offering discounts to your employees in exchange for the added business. Be creative, there may be lots of opportunities to add company perks and benefits to your stakeholders.

Be charitable

Donate to charity for the holidays – tying your company to a cause or corporate social responsibility may be the thing to separate your business from one that’s merely operating to one that’s sustainable. Volunteering at shelters, and sponsoring a food drive can help with your business’ charitable causes while generating exposure for the business.
