I love reading on my tablet

Back in the day reading a book was where you would find me these days you can find me borrowing my daughter’s tablet to read books that I buy from Kindle. I love to read and books seem to be going extinct like CD’s (did you know that best buy won’t be selling CDs anymore). I remember when I was in high school I got locked in the library because I got lost in a book. I got away from reading when I first had my kids because I was so busy being a mom and a wife. Now that the wife role is no longer there and my kids don’t need me to be as hands on these days I have decided to pick back up my first love….reading. This summer I’m determined to finish 3 books and I want to also tell you why I love reading on a tablet.

Reading on a tablet

Reading on a tablet gives me the ability to read in the dark. I don’t have to have my light on all night long. My kids need to sleep and my door is adjacent to my daughter’s room. Turning my light off to read allows her to sleep better because it’s dark and she doesn’t have to ask me when I’m going to bed 50 million times

I can have a book in my hands in seconds. I am always on the lookout for a great book so if I see something interesting or someone mentions a book to me I can get it right away. I don’t have to wait to get to a store. This is probably the best part about reading on my tablet.

My tablet lets me know how much I’ve read and how much I have to read. It will say I have 30% left of the book to read and that’s great to know. I feel that I can plan ahead with how many hours I can spend reading and block off time to read and do my work. I no longer have to rush through a chapter or a book because I know exactly how long it will take for me to finish it. If my kids call me I can say give me 30 minutes…that’s how long I have in this chapter

I can read from anywhere. So I have the Kindle app if I leave my tablet I can log in on my computer or my cell phone and read. This comes in handy if I have to wait at a Dr appointment with my kids and I’m bored. Or if I have to wait to pick them up from an activity.

Having a tablet is greener and it keeps me from having a lot of books collecting dust. Back in the day, I would finish reading a book and then I would just leave it somewhere. Now I can highlight something in a book and when I’m done I can go back to that book (right in my app) and reference something without looking for the actual book.

Those are just a few reasons that I love reading on my tablet. Now here is what I’m reading this summer

Crushing it by Gary Vee

I’m reading this now. I have 20% more to go with this book and then I”m done

The Sun does Shine by Anthony Hinton

I am reading this next. I haven’t heard anything about the book personally but if Oprah picks it…I’m reading it

The Subtle Art of not giving an eff by Mark Manson

The title alone drew me in. I have to learn not to let people get to me so I’m hoping this book helps

I normally give some reviews on books I’ve read so make sure you check 15 things I’ve learned from Gary Vaynerchuk

You spoke to the book worm in me with this post. I used to be in the library 2-3 times a week when I was a teenager. I have a tablet, but I prefer my books all the same. When I go to the library I still get books. But I’ll be honest when I’m on Amazon, I look to see what is downloadable on Kindle before I will purchase and actual book. Reading is fundamental and I’m glad it’s still not a lost art.

My daughter loves reading on her tablet as well. She keeps encouraging me to get one but I haven’t as of yet. Will have to try hers out to see how it works and how I like using it.

Reading on my tablet is convenient. I have a ton of downloaded books and I love the read aloud feature when I’m on a flight to drown out the noise. My Kindle Fire is my favorite tablet. Although the others work just as well. Which tablet is your favorite?

I use my daughters Samsung tablet. I thought about buying me one but I don’t really use the tablet that much only to read so I just fight her for it

My husband reads on his tablet all the time. He doesn’t mind it at all. I like to hold a book. I’m a fan of turning pages and holding them.

My tablet is collecting dust. I just couldn’t get into reading on tablets. I guess I’m old fashion and like reading books. I like Gary Vee, he is a tell it like it is kind of guy and straight to the point. Yeah, he has a potty mouth, but that’s what makes him unique.

I have a huge pile of to-read books in bedroom that I really want to get to. I have yet to start reading books on my tablet, maybe it would help me catch up on that pile. It definitely would be more convenient.

I have not started reading on my tablet yet, although I have thought about it. I really like the feel of a book in my hands that I can turn the pages. We are about to take a trip so I think I may give it a try!

Yes, I love reading on my tablet too. My local library gives me access to other apps/sites, where I can download ebooks of famous books & bestsellers. I use it all the time to read up on my fave topics!!!

I love how convenient it is to read on a tablet. Though I still love reading a physical book.

I had a Kindle Fire, one of the first editions, and I loved it. I read so much more by having that then I ever did. I wonder if it still works? I put it away in a drawer, and this really makes me want to pull it back out.

Reading on a tablet is way too convenient, though I miss reading from a real book. This reminds me that I should get back to reading my novels.

I can’t read continuously on a gadget because of migraine. I prefer books but I wish I could use tablet too.

Times have changed and although I love adding books to my collection since I also love reading, it’s really convenient to have a tablet with you especially when you’re traveling. It’s light and it’s not going to take up a lot of space as well. I love reading on a tablet as well!

It’s nice to read from a gadget because of how convenient it is but nothing beat the smell, touch, and sound of flipping pages with a real book. Those are some great reading items.

Motherhood sucked up my reading time. I didn’t think I could survive without an actual book in my hand. Now I’ve grown to love audio books, I can get more reading in this way.

I like reading on my tablet as well. I like that I can make notes without actually writing in the book.

I love reading on my tablet. I like the ease of note taking and highlighting on most digital devices. While I love the feel of paper, reading has become more mobile friendly on my tablet when I’m out and about with my kiddies.

Yep I love reading on Kindle too. I can’t see regular books, the print is too small. And I love reading multiple books because sometimes it’s something like Stephen King that I can’t read before I go to bed so I need to read something light. I have the Anthony Hinton book. I don’t usually buy stuff but Oprah sold me on that one. I’ve started it just to get it started, I’m already interested but I’m reading some other stuff and I’ll get back to it later.
