End of the year review

It’s the end of the year and whew it felt like 2021 was just an extension of 2020…I’m still living in 2019 and I am not ready for 2022. These years are going by fast the motto is you better be ready for anything. With that being said I want to highlight some wins for this year, some losses, some lessons, and what I hope to achieve next year. I don’t do resolutions but I do like to have goals. I don’t put any pressure on me to reach all the goals but I do try to reach at least 1. So here is my end-of-the-year review.

End of the year review

Lets start with social media

I’m no longer on my Facebook fan page. Gave that up. We shall see what Meta does but I’m not feeling it anymore so I just stopped posting. I posted my newsletter on there for you to sign up so make sure you do because that will be the best way to get in touch with me. Instagram…chile I went private. Too many eyes and I ain’t got time with folks on my page who don’t speak so I started deleting and so far deleted over 2k people. I want to use Instagram for what I started it for…a community where I get to know people and they get to know me so I look forward to the privacy over there and showing you more of me. I haven’t been on Pinterest in a while may hire someone to do that for me. Twitter is bae! I’m on there the most jumping into conversations, meeting people, watching shows and talking shat. It’s always been my favorite platform so join me over there. I still have my photography and shegeechee pages so follow me on those platforms but I’m not putting all my eggs in that social media basket. I’m over it and I just want to chill. If I post I post if I don’t I don’t.

Personal life

I didn’t lose the weight I thought I would this year. As a matter of fact I didn’t lose nor gain which I guess can be good. I went on 2 dates this year but nothing panned out. I am picky at my age and I’m asking all the questions and if 3 answers don’t go my way I’m not dealing with it. I can be picky. I’ve been married, I have my kids, and I don’t need anyone’s money. I am looking for companionship and someone to have fun with. I don’t want anyone boring or who doesn’t add to my life.

Kids are doing well. My son is still with the shits when it comes to school work. He now wants to be a rapper smdh. My daughter’s attitude is getting worse and I swear she has anger issues. We will be seeking a therapist for her in the new year because she to young to be this angry. We will be gearing up for my sons 16th birthday bash. It’s in the works and costing me a pretty penny everytime he fails a grade I deduct something from this bash lol.

Business life

My goal this year was to make more money in photography and I did. I ended my year on a good note. I was also able to pay off my car note with my photorgraphy money so thats a win in my book. Next year I want to add more brand phography to my portfolio so I will be diving into that. Also Seniors I like them so I hope to do that more. She Geechee has been going well. I finally got the newsletter going for that and I will be doing themed shirts for Valentine’s Day can’t wait.

Blogging I will still be doing. Just not focused on it. This will be more of I write when I feel a need could be once a week could be twice a month who knows. No pressure at all. I have enough posts already written to revise and put out. Plus since my instagram is now private most companies won’t wanna work with me so that is good I can blog and do what I want when I want.

Lessons I learned

  1. Learning to say no makes people not like you very much…I no longer carfe
  2. Setting boundaries and sticking to them are goals
  3. If I don’t have shawdows I’m not standing in the light
  4. I gotta believe in myself because no one else will believe in me like I do
  5. Recognize your own poison in life
  6. Don’t listen to yourself. Listen to the advice you give others
  7. Run to the problem instead of running away from it
  8. Losing can gived you an edge that winning does not afford you
  9. Stop getting lessons from people who haven’t walked the walk.
  10. A persons opinion is not the truth…it’s their truth

Goals for 2022

I have 3…
Network more espeically when it comes to business. I am probably going to join my local chamber of commerce and attend more get togethers.

Complete my Project 365 and make it a book at the end of the year with photos and captions so that we can keep them for memories.

Lose 40 pounds. I think this is doable for next year. I plan on starting with eating vegan once a week and then my son and I will be doing 15 min exercise things as often as we can.

I hope that you had a good year and I hope that next year is even better. Happy Holidays to you and yours!
