Brunch at Negril Village Atlanta

I love brunch! It’s probably because I get up so late and I am not a morning person. I try to take the kids with me as much as I can to experience various places to eat in and around Atlanta. I try to do this at least 2 Saturdays a month. Last weekend we tried Negril Village in Atlanta. I have been there before for an event and I have been craving their shrimp and grits ever since. So come with me as I take you into our Brunch at Negril Village Atlanta Saturday.

Brunch at Negril Village Atlanta

I had photoshoots all Saturday morning. I normally leave my kids but I decided to bring them with me so we could brunch together after my shoot. Negril was only 10 min from where I shot at so it was the perfect brunch spot to introduce the kids too.

Parking can be a hassle down there. It’s a small parking space and it can be full depending on the time of day you go. We went around 11:30 and there were literally 2 parking spots left. It’s $10 for 2 hours so be prepared to pay to park. We got there and it was empty so we sat quickly. When we sat down the guy told us that there was an all you can eat brunch upstairs that started at 12 noon and we should try that. Now I love all you can eat brunches but since I had kids I didn’t feel like taking them upstairs with a lot of adults (we rarely saw kids there) so I opted to sit in the restaurant and order. It was a bit cheaper for the three of us to eat in the actual downstairs part.

I would consider this spot an upscale Jamaican spot. It’s very classy but you can still do jeans. We sat down and my kids saw someone bringing waffles out and wanted that they didn’t even look at the menu. I did and the prices were like whoa but when I was there before the money was well worth it so we dived in.

I ordered the cornbread and the oxtail empanadas. My kids ate the cornbread in seconds I didn’t even taste one morsel. Of course, they don’t like oxtail so I had that all to myself.  They brought water over to the table so that was good but I was looking to get something to drink drink. My kids are against me drinking anything that has alcohol in  it so I ordered a fruit punch. That drink was AMAZING! I had to order me one to go.

So I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and both kids got the jerk chicken and waffles. The waffles were a hit but not the Jerk Chicken. I took that home for dinner because they aren’t going to waste my money. Overall it was a great place to have brunch but maybe not so much for kids who are as picky as mine. Go there for a nice date with your boo or you can your girls can meet there for a nice brunch. The atmosphere is hip and lively and the decor is the bomb. Did I mention they have an A score for food. That’s important to me because I don’t eat anywhere where the score is below an A. I will drive off or leave in a hurry lol.

Overall it was a great day for brunch. Oh BTW did I mention that you can have an event there? If you are having a bridal shower, baby shower, business meeting, etc. you can have your event upstairs. Make sure you get the shrimp and grits. Not many places in Atlanta can fix that just right (trust me I know I’m from Charleston, SC) and they get it right every single time. I need to add this spot to my list of great brunches around Atlanta!

What’s your favorite brunch spot?

Shrimp and Grits is a huge favorite of mine. I love them for brunch or any time of the day. Those waffles look pretty tasty too. The hubby loves jerk chicken so he would probably order that.

The food looks amazing. I like your fruit drink, too. I sometimes want something other than water, too. I usually head toward lemonade, but only if it is homemade.

Ooo this looks like a place I’d really enjoy eating at. That Bananas Foster French Toast is calling my name. I’ve always liked going out for brunch. We’re generally boring and just go to Denny’s.

I want those waffles, though. 🙂

Was thinking that was an alcoholic drink, but looks good just the same!

I have not eaten Jamaican and this does seem so different and maybe a southern flaire is unique. I have to try brunch we are always so busy on weekends.

Even though this establishment isn’t close to me it is fun learning about new places we could eat at if we ever visit that City. Thank you for sharing this with us.

From the menu, I would definitely get the banana’s foster french toast and grandma’s porridge. The rest of the items look good too.

Seems like the juice is really such a refreshing one. Who would not want to have a brunch like this? I am a nocturnal so I always prefer having brunch.

This sounds amazing! A brunch buffet is the only time I like a buffet so I can taste everything, I have to keep this on my list for next time I’m in the ATL area

When we travel we also love to find local cuisine to try on. We pass Atlanta going to Savannah it was a big city to explore. Hopefully next time we will be able to stop by this restaurant.

Can see you had a good time and a great brunch at Negril Village. A good breakfast or Brunch works wonders especially when you are travelling. We too enjoy a hearty brunch before we set out on our explorations during our travels.

Shrimp and Grits, that sounds divine!! Nice to know Babushka isn’t the only one who takes things to go when it’s not eaten. No sense in wasting good food or dinero!

The food looks bomb and it is especially hard to look at since I started my diet. Once I’m done the restaurant is on my list.

Your drinks looks refreshing and delicious, it needs a bit of a spike. We have a Negril here, but it is a more casual dining. I’m so curious about the oxtail empanada.
