Movie night alone with Netflix

I don’t care what anyone else says I’m not giving up my Netflix. I have Hulu, Disney +, and Amazon but Netflix is still my all-time favorite. Over the past few months, I’ve been binge-watching shows, checking out new stuff, and discovering my love for movie night alone. I normally do a movie night with the kids on Saturdays but the rest of the week it’s my time. Normally on Friday evenings, I have Movie night alone. A glass of wine, fancy popcorn, and my warm bed. So what have I been watching? A lot! Let’s dive into my movie night alone with my netflix itinerary. I’ll tell you some of the best shows on Netflix that you gotta watch, give my commentary on a few, and rate it from 1 to 10.

Best Shows on Netflix

This is according to Kita lol

You – Y’all I got caught up in the first season and had to do the 2nd one. I liked the first season better. This season was a little slow for me to be honest. I still liked it but on a scale of 1 to 10 the second season was a solid 7. I heard they are coming back for season 3…I hope the child doesn’t turn out like them geesus.

6 Underground – Ommm it was a lot of car chasing and stuff. I liked it though. Ryan Reynolds is funny as usual. Lots of killing and stuff but honestly it wasn’t a bad movie. I think this would have done well in the movie theater or maybe not. Scale of 1 to 10 I will give this an 8. If it wasn’t so much car stuff or killing with more of a story I would have given this a 10.

Cheer – My favorite so far this month. It was one of the realest reality shows that I’ve seen in a while. Y’all know how they do those type of shows they make things seem so far fetched that it tends to be a fake storyline with a tad bit of realness. This to me had a real tone to it. I loved Jerry the most and I need him cheering me on all the time. I will also say that some of those parents….smh. Scale of 1 to 10 I will give this a 10

Fall from grace – Tyler and those wigs. Look he tried to do something out of the norm. I loved the storyline but hated the actors. I think Tyler needs to let someone else write some stuff and maybe he just directs or produces it from time to time. Let someone else take over some things especially when it comes to wardrobe and stuff. That movie was 2 hours of my life wasted because it didn’t get real until the last 10 min. Scale of 1 to 10 6 and a 1/2…the half is for the attempt to bring what could have been a better story if he had let someone else do the writing.

The mind of Aaron Hernandez – If you need to know what the definition of ride or die looks like look up the Aunt with a side of the fiance. I thought this was put together well and gave a different perspective of who Aaron was. I knew the story but didn’t really know the story so I appreciated the dive into his background. On a scale of 1 to 10, I give this an 8. I gave this an 8 because I would have loved to see more interviews with all players including the other 2 people with him and I would love to hear the sister side of things (the one whose boyfriend got killed). Also, how the mama ask for a million soon as he signed…ridiculous.

Kevin Hart Don’t Fuck this Shit up – He’s not that funny to me so don’t come for me if you don’t agree. I liked this side of him though. The wife knows what’s up sadly I see him doing this again. Was it just me or did you not feel a connection with him and his wife? Those kids don’t care for her that much either. Scale of 1 to 10 I give this an 8. It was solid and perfect for Netflix.

Jacob’s Ladder – This was suspenseful and creepy at the same time. I loved how the storyline took you for a ride and then switched lanes in the middle. I was not prepared for this movie at all. Kinda eye-opening too because I sometimes wonder about these meds that doctors give us and the true side effects. Scale of 1 to 10 I give this an 8. I wanted a better storyline but it was decent for a Netflix movie.

Girls Incarcerated – This was good. I’ve learned that it does matter where you grew up because that shapes you. These girls are angry, hurt, and some were abused. Also, a few of them aren’t even wanted. My heart broke for one of the girls who can get out but no one will come and get her so she sits and sits and sits. I will give this a 10. I think it’s a must-watch for preteen girls and parents to watch so they can see first hand what happens when you don’t listen.

Cold case files – I like stuff like this because I love trying to play like I’m the detective. I try to solve the crime before the actual detectives do. I am biased because these are my type of shows. I give this a 9. I gave this a 9 because I didn’t like how they told the story but that’s just me.

On my block – My son told me about this show and at first, I was like I don’t want to watch this mess but I was intrigued and loved all the episodes. They just finished wrapping up the 3rd season and I can’t wait. I love that I can watch this with my kids and it’s a great show to watch with them. I give this series a 10 because it’s so relatable to teens. Did you know that the majority of actors are old enough to drink? The kids…yep they look so young.

So there is my recap of what I’ve been watching the past few weeks. Netflix can sometimes get you because it’s like a pringles chip you can’t just watch one episode. I try not to get into series until weekends when I have more time to watch them. I’ve made the mistake of watching one episode in the weekday and I gotta keep going and going until it’s done. I am looking forward to Followers coming out next month that touches on social media people. I am also wanting to see Locke and Key which I’ve heard is going to be really good. Netflix is doing great when it comes to movies and I hope they keep pushing them out.

Out of the 3 (Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime) which is your favorite?

Raising Dion is another good one. They are getting a season 2 as well. I just started Good Girls and that is hilarious. The Crown and Hip-Hop Evolution.

I’ve watched more than half of the shows listed above. Good choices.

Almost all of these shows are either on my list to watch or I’ve already watched them. I use Netflix the most, but I also enjoy some of the shows on Amazon Prime.

I love Ryan Reynolds’ acting style and sense of humor. Underground sounds like a good show. I’m also interested in Cheer.

Oh the Aaron Hernadez comments out there! I just saw Fall from Grace and had to rebuke the devil several times. That was scary to me for some reason.

I haven’t watched any of these. I recently binged Shameless. Friends had been bugging me to watch it and the first couple of episodes didn’t draw me in, but I stuck it out and by the 5th episode I was obsessed.

I watched girl’s incarcerated about a year ago. It was sad to watch them mess up their lives but I wish they would do a follow-up video on how they did after they were released. I’m always curious if rehabilitation helped them.

I’m not sure if Yummy Mummy’s is still on Netflix or not. It was a show that I watched a little over a year ago and I was appalled at how these ladies acted. It is a show about a few super-rich spoiled ladies. They were even given huge push presents. I don’t understand why they were irrational but I guess it comes with the territory of how they were raised.
