School started August 1st so I took last week off to spend some quality time with the kids. We are back to the nitty gritty around here. I have a new 8th grader and a new 5th grader. This is the last year of them at one school, last year of my son at his school that he has been to since kindergarten and the first year that I haven’t been on the PTO board for the school. Lots of changes going on this year and I am scared for our future. Don’t know where I will send him for high school because the high school where I live sucks so before he goes there he will be off to private school, we will move, or I will home school. I don’t play when it comes to education. It’s back to school with my 8th grader and 5th grader and here is what I expect this year.
Back to school with my 8th grader and 5th grader
No failing grades. Yes, I don’t accept anything less than a C. Sorry I’m that parent. I understand school is boring and some of the teachers suck but we are going to make the best of it and find the good. If they fail anything less than a C on their daily work they are shut down for the weekend. The entire weekend and they will do chores, read, and do busywork.
They are responsible for their own breakfast. I talked about their routine here.
That’s really it lol. I am an easy parent. My kids don’t have bedtime per se but I take electronics at 9:30 every night and they can stay up and count sheep for all I care. They usually fall off to sleep around 10ish so I’m good with that.
That’s all I require! I always take their photos the night before because we are so busy the day of school.
8th grader

I don’t like his hair but whatever. I am trying to let him do what he wants within reason.
Favorite subject….Lunch. He is good in math though.
5th grader
Has several boyfriends
Loves all subjects and makes straight A’s. I’m hoping she keeps that up this year also
Wants to wear makeup on the first day….NO

Her bookbag I got from Amazon. I bought a roller from Target didn’t last but a month smh.
