Cool Pools in Atlanta
There is no better way to beat the summer heat than a dip in a cool pool. And Atlanta has a variety of amazing pools to choose from. Here are some of the best pools for kids in Atlanta:
Piedmont Park Aquatic Center: This amazing park pool is perfect for families. The beach entry is great for younger kids, and the four lap lanes and current channel is perfect for more serious swimmers. The pool area at Piedmont Park Aquatic Center also includes a nice splash pad for little ones and lounge chairs for the adults to relax in. Admission is $1 for children five and under, $2 for children 6 to 16 and $4 for adults.
Mountain Park Aquatic Center: With an outdoor pool that’s more like a water park, your kids will have a blast at Mountain Park Aquatic Center! The pool features a beach-style entry and a lazy river. And thrill-seekers can enjoy a pair of big water slides that land in the deep end of the pool. Admission is $3.25 for Gwinnett residents and $6.25 for non-Gwinnett residents.
West Gwinnett Park Aquatic Center: With an indoor water park and outdoor pool area, there is fun for your kids no matter the weather at West Gwinnett Aquatic Center. The outdoor park includes two big water slides and a relaxing lazy river, in addition to a big pool and spray bar for the younger kids. Admission to West Gwinnett Park is $6.25 for kids three and under, $8.25 for kids age four to 10, and $10.50 for adults and kids over the age of 10.
Wills Park Pool: This Alpharetta pool has something for everyone. Serious swimmers can enjoy an Olympic-size pool with three diving boards at Wills Park pool, while the little ones can have a blast in the splash zone with animals and palm trees that shoot water. And while the kids swim, you can relax in one of the lounge chairs by the pool and soak in the sun. Admission is $3 per person or you can purchase family passes for $100 ($150 for non-Alpharetta residents).
Brown’s Mill Family Aquatic Facility: This fun aquatic center has so much to offer your family! Swimmers can enjoy the huge pool, while more adventurous kids will love going down the big water slide. And for kids who like to relax while they cool off, there’s a great lazy river at Brown’s Mill Family Aquatic Facility. There’s even a splash pad for your younger kids to play in! Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for kids.

While a dip in the pool is a great way to cool off, kids love running through water! These awesome splash pads are a great way for your kids to get wet this summer.
Centennial Olympic Park: This popular splash pad is a must when you’re in downtown Atlanta. The Fountain of Rings in Centennial Olympic Park is a free splash pad that has a fun water show four times a day. The show is held every day at 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, and 9 p.m.
Historic Fourth Ward Park: Another fun free option in the city is the splash pad in Historic Fourth Ward Park. Your kids will have a ton of fun running through the water, which shoots out from every direction. And you can relax in the shade on one of the many benches surrounding the splash pad, ensuring you stay cook in the Atlanta heat, too!
Riverside Park: The huge splash pad at Riverside Park in Roswell is another fun option for families this summer. Your kids can cool of under one of the spinning mushroom fountains or get splashed from the many in-ground spray jets. Either way, I’m sure they’ll have a ton of fun cooling off at this cool splash pad.
Perkerson Park: Nestled in Perkerson Park, this cool splash pad is just part of the fun your kids can have in this nature preserve. The splash pad features tons of in-ground jets shooting out and is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. Your kids can also enjoy a great playground and 18-hole disc golf course here when they’re finished cooling off.
D.H. Stanton Park: The Splash ‘N Play in D.H. Stanton is part of Atlanta’s first energy-cost neutral park. After playing on the playground, your kids will enjoy cooling off in the splash pad, which is also home to a commissioned piece of public art by Robert Witherspoon. The splash pad is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day.
