A candle a day keeps my moodiness away

I love candles! I have a collection of them in my cabinet. I keep one scent upstairs and one downstairs. I burn candles pretty much daily especially in the mornings when I work or when I self care. I also love them in them in the evenings as I wind down. Now I know we are supposed to not let candles burn for a while but look my candles burn for hours upon hours so I typically use one candle for a week so my candle collection goes fast. I want to talk about my candle collection below and a candle a day keeps my moodiness away.

First, let’s start with Bath and Body works. I used to love them. I stood in line bought them all the time when they were on sale but a few years ago I started getting sick. At first I thought hmm maybe allergies but when I didn’t burn the candles I was fine so I got rid of them and started feeling much better. I loved them but they didn’t love me so I had to switch to some other brands. Before I get into my favorite brands let’s talk about candles a little and how I pick them out.

A good candle has to have that scent right. I don’t mean having a scent only for the first time that I burn it. I love candles that keep that scent burn after burn. I don’t need a pretty fire I want to smell it. Scent is the key. I don’t want anything that doesn’t match my smell. Everyone likes to smell different things some like sweet smells, some like wood or masculine smells and some like fruity smells. I think this goes hand and hand with your perfume selection also. I like a mixture of all it just depends on my mood for the day.

The packaging of candles doesn’t concern me that much as long as it keeps its smell a candle is a candle. Since it’s Rona a lot of people are asking well how do you know how a candle smells? Do you just buy all nilly willy? Yes and no. What I do is look at the best selling scents and then read how they should smell. I have taken a chance on a few and so far I have been good with the selections I’ve made without smelling them first. Now let’s get into my favorite candles that I keep in rotation at my home.

Nest

Now, these are expensive. I bought 2 of them over the holidays for myself. When I tell you these things are worth every penny. Chile….get you some. Grapefruit and that linen collection are my two favorites. It smells like I just washed closed every evening.

Southern Elegance Candle

This one I took a chance on. I had never heard of this company but wanted to support. I bought the southern sunshine and southern sweet tea (after my Charleston roots). Both kept their smell until the last drop and I will be buying again.

Black Luxe Candles

These candles are one of my fav’s. That pink lemonade is the truth. They keep their smell for a while so that’s a good thing. Their customer service is phenomenal. I had an issue with one of them and they replaced it with no problems.

Natural Annie Essentials

A friend bought this one for me last year as a thinking of you gift. Now I don’t let folks buy me candles because their tastes are off but she nailed this one. I have a few of these at my home and it’s hard to pick my favorite. If I had to pick one favorite it would be island vibes.

Whatever candles you love make sure you take care of your candles so they last long. Trim and by the snuffer. It makes a huge difference. What’s your favorite candle brand? Should I come up with my own candle line?
