And if your mom is a beach lover, you can head south of the city to enjoy the waves for the day. The natural beaches of Folley Beach offer a relaxing escape from the city, while nearby Isle of Palms is ideal for families seeking a fun day on the sand.

New Orleans

For a more lively Mother’s Day escape, head to New Orleans where you and your mom will have an endless selection of amazing entertainment and delicious food available to you.     I love these ideas! I’d so take my daughter to Wilmington. I’ve been there before and know it’s gorgeous. Plus Dawson’s Creek was filmed there 😉

    I love trips to Charleston. My daughter got married there and I was in Charleston a couple of weekends ago. It would be awesome to get together with my girls for a mother/daughter weekend getaway.

    All of these seem like great destinations, although I’ve never been to Gulf Shores. Every few years my sisters and I go on a trip with our mom and it is great fun.
