Easter basket ideas for teen boys

My mom made me an Easter basket every year of my life. I was pissed when she stopped at 18 like no…give me my basket. As a teenager, my mom got very creative with my baskets. I not only got candy but I got books and things that I could use at whatever stage of life I was in. I got a basket up until she passed away and I miss my baskets. Now that I have kids I want to make sure I do the same for them. My daughter is girly so I know what to put her basket but when it comes to my son it’s hard to put a basket together. He is about to be 13 and I don’t want to not make him one because I like to be fair so I asked him what he wanted in his basket. Today I’m going to share his ideas for a teen Easter basket.

He loves his chains. I have bought him a few already some are fake and some are real. Can you spot the difference? Anywhoo he thinks he is a rapper so I oblige and get him a few chains. He said he would like another chain in his basket so I will get him one.

Money

What tween doesn’t love money? I would probably do about 100 bucks no more than that. If not money then of course gift cards. My son would love some GameStop gift cards or Xbox one gift cards for his games so that would make him very happy.

Personal Care items

Raise your hands if you go into your son’s room and the smell knocks you out. *raises hands* My son has gotten a little better with hygiene but he could still use some help. I would buy him some lotion, maybe bandaids that have sports on them, and of course cologne so he can smell good.

Books

My son, unfortunately, isn’t a lover of reading but he does love wimpy kid and marvel. Some old school Marvel comics would be great for my son. If your son loves to read find out what his interests are and find books in that genre for him.

Headphones

My son goes through headphones like it’s going out of style. It’s my fault though because I do buy the cheap ones but in my defense, I have bought 3 beats by dre and none of them lasted more than a year. I wasn’t going to spend any more money on expensive headphones for it to last one year.

T-shirts

Find some that have some cool sayings and buy them. It’s easy to roll up so maybe find 3 of them and have one of them made specifically for your son. Look on Etsy and do a shirt that represents something he loves. My son loves Marvel movies so for the upcoming movie I would get him a shirt to wear on opening day or for when he goes to the movie theater.

A Journal

My son got a little jealous of my daughter and I writing in our planner every night. I asked him if he wanted to join us he said no so I instead made him get a journal. So every night my son and I journal while my daughter and I plan. I promised him I would not read his journal if he makes sure he talks to me about things that are bothering him. A journal also helps to write his feelings down on paper instead of keeping it bottled up inside of him.

A small tool set

I think the right of passage to being a young man is his own tool set. Not the grown man kind but a smaller version that he can keep up with. I am making my son fix little things around the house and I think it would be a great idea for him to have his own set of tools.

Of course, you can put candy in the basket and a cute stuffed animal but overall I think making your son feel special is the name of the game. If you celebrate Easter will you be doing a basket for your kids?

Now that I have teen grandsons – yikes – where did the time go – this will come in handy for Easter basket ideas. Yes, I still put together baskets for all the grandkids.

Great ideas. I have older kids, and they usually get gift cards and cash. Plus candy. They are still big on getting candy. I might get a pair of headphones too.

Money isn’t something we do at Easter. We do more homemade candies. The journal is something that would be nice to include.

My 20 year old was just asking what we were doing for Easter Weekend.

    I said I’m running away. 😁

I still have a teen son at home so these are some great suggestions.
