A young man needs a space of his own

I did my daughter’s room reveal a while ago but didn’t get around to doing my son’s room on the blog. Here is the back story. I did my sons room first when we moved into the home. He was the oldest and felt his father’s death the most so I wanted him to have space for him to chill out and be. He was close to his father so I wanted him to have that room decorated. Since I don’t know a thing about decorating I put something together. Well fast forward to me getting my daughter’s room done he said he wanted a small update to his room. So I got with B.E. Decors again and we knocked it out of the park. A young man always needs a space of his own so let me introduce you to my sons space.

A young man needs a space of his own

My son loves 3 things. The color Orange, Kobe Bryant, and some rap person that I still don’t know the name of. My son loves basketball a lot. I think he wishes that he could play but I sadly never had anyone to teach him the skills that he needs. I can play but he never wants to be seen with me so he won’t let me teach him a lil sumthing sumthing. The goal for his room was to have space for him to do his school work, watch his Netflix, and have a display for his shoes. We accomplished all 3. Let’s talk about the school space first because I think that’s important.

At first, I had my son downstairs in the dining room area. It was a disaster and I wanted my area back so I thought hmm let me put a desk in his room so that he can get his work.

This desk serves as a night stand also because he puts his phone on here and his humidifier on. I like that it serves two purposes. Especially if I have to move him back downstairs (I had to because he was failing some classes).

Next up is the quote above. I think this says it all. I love that he has inspiration in his room to keep him motivated daily when he gets up.

What was he excited about in his room?

This basketball quote on the ball. I wish I could say I wrote it but I didn’t. This does sum up what would say though.

Next up is my favorite part of the room. It’s the shoe rack. He loves his shoes and has more pairs than I have. He doesn’t play about his shoes. His sister and I can’t touch it because he will spaz out. He doesn’t like creases in his shoes nor does he like dirt on them. This is the only thing in the house he will clean without me having to ask him to do it.

I love the bed too. It’s blue and matches with that orange very well.

Next up is the Kobe Bryant Pillow. Now I am a Kobe Bryant fan but when he died earlier this year I think that was something that brought him and I even closer together. My love for Kobe and basketball was what he wanted in his room.

Now don’t ask me where I got things from because I don’t know lol. A designer never tells her secrets because I was already asked about a few things. Google will be your friend on this one although I can tell you the basketball holders came from pottery barn.

Thank you to B.E. Decors for his room. He is a happy camper. If you were doing your sons room what color would you do it? Whats your favorite part about the room?

I like the message on the basketball -” You will never lose. You’ll either win or learn!”

Great job on decorating your son’s room. Inspite of the fact that you’re a woman. Still you had great choices with the colors and organizers.

His room looks awesome! My son is into video games, so his room has that decor going on. Plus The Office stuff. But it’s true: they need space!

You are a great mom and your son is lucky to have you. I have a son too and now that my daughter is away he has basically taken over the whole house.

Looks very nice! Christopher would love a shoe rack. He’ll have to get one custom made one day for his giant feet. He only have two pair of nice shoes on rotation because we don’t know if these size 14/15 gonna grown ONE MO TIME. So far they’ve been at a standstill for the last year.

I agree that young people that age really need their own space to relax. Somewhere that reflects them, that makes them feel comfortable and allows them to work on homework and hobbies. I barely had that growing up. My room was in my mothers house and therefore decorated like she wanted. It never reflected me.
