The easiest apple pie you will ever make

I love apple pie. As a matter of fact, I begged my grandma to give me her recipe and she took it with her to the grave. I asked my mom and she said grandma never even gave it to her…dammit grandma. She used to make the best apple pie out there. THE BEST. She made her own dough ain’t nobody got time for that so this one will be with store bought dough. I’m bougie when it comes to my food so please pay me no attention to the products I buy, you buy what your coins can afford. Let’s start with the dough and the top of the pie because this will be the easiest apple pie you will ever make.

Buy the regular pie crust for the bottom

I use two different apples Granny and Gala apples. I get 3 of each and take the skin off and dice them up. 6 apples can make you 2 pies or if you want to get the deep dish one it can do one pie.

I get a mixing bowl and mix the apples

3/4 cup of brown sugar

I use a little white sugar too but I don’t know how much I use as I don’t measure it. Don’t do more than 2 tablespoons unless you want this really sweet.

3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
A sprinkle of lemon juice just a sprinkle you don’t want it with too much lemon
Mix all of that together and then here is a tip. Cook the apples in a frying pan before you put it in the oven. I usually cook it in butter for about 10 min. (Cut just a tablespoon of butter) Then pour that mixture into the pie crust (I put a sprinkle of all-purpose flour at the bottom of the crust and shake it around)  Top the pie with the other crust. Mix a tablespoon of butter with some cinnamon and pour on top of the crust. Slit some holes at the top doesn’t have to be perfect but design how you want and bake for about 40 minutes on 300. (This is my oven other ovens may vary but keep checking on it to make sure it’s done) I bake it low because remember I cooked the apples beforehand so it won’t take that long to bake you just need to make sure the crust is nice and golden.

This isn’t my grandma pie but this is as close as I will get. It’s easy to make the longest process is cutting up the apples into chunks. How do you make your apple pie? What do you add that I didn’t? Apples are healthy in a lot of ways. I wrote a post about the benefits of eating apples make sure you read it here.

I love apple pie and I am ALL about easy, so I will have to try this. I usually bring apple pie to Thanksgiving, so that is the perfect chance to try this out.

Yum, this looks amazing! I love easy stuff. My husband makes a pretty easy apple pie as well. Neither of us have the patience to cut up a bunch of apples so we just get them from a can.

Apple pie is my family’s favorite dessert during the holidays. Your recipe here is super simple, and you have all the necessary ingredients. No frills apple pie is the best.

When you use store bought crust it really is so simple. Just roll out and put int the pan. Dump some store bought apple pie filling and throw it in the oven.

I’ve never tried to make an apple pie before because it just seemed like a lot of steps. This is something I can handle!

Apple pie is my favorite dessert ever. Too bad I’m the only one in my family who likes cooked fruit. The Antoines refuse to eat it.

Apple and easy? Si, Por Favor and Gracias!! Pinned your recipe and will be making four- thinking my toaster oven will only fit 1/2 of a crust at a time. Can’t wait to have this with my cafe con leche in the morning!!

I don’t usually bake, but my favorite meal is veggie pot-pies. Apple pie goes well with my favorite meal. I just may need to try your recipe to see how yummy it turns out.

I don’t really like apples (the texture whether they’re soft or hard, lol), but I don’t mind the crust or filling! This pie looks and sounds good though! Easy recipes are great.
