Our Fall Break Week

Last week we had a Fall break. You know back in the day we didn’t have all those extra breaks. It was school….thanksgiving weekend, break for the holidays, and spring break. That’s it! These days it’s Fall Break, A week for Thanksgiving, 2 weeks for holiday, Winter Break and Spring break….team tew much. I didn’t go anywhere last week for the break. My mind needed a rest homework and my business stresses me out so I needed a week to not have to do anything! So I wanted to break down our Fall break week and what did.

Our Fall Break Week

We started that Monday off with a trip to BJ Reese Farm in the upper part of GA. My girls called me to go and I was sleeping so I missed the apple picking but I did get some apple goodies and we got out of the house. I didn’t mind the drive as we didn’t have anything to do that morning but that evening we went to the Winky Lux pop up store at Lennox Mall and had a blast. My daughter was in her element because she was loving the makeup and stuff

our fall break

On Tuesday my son had his white belt ceremony. He is in Jiu-Jitsu. I put him in so that he can be a little focused and for some exercise. I think martial arts is good for kids to get into. He hates it but I love it!

I’m so proud of him for getting his White belt

our fall break

Wed I chilled and had a non-crank day!

I also worked on my t-shirt business Sweetgrass Roots. I added a new shirt and worked on some photoshoots for it.

The storm Micheal came into town so it was raining Wed evening and Thursday but we made it to dance and then Friday an eye doctor appt.

We also went to the Escape The Room here in Atlanta. That was interesting……I will do a separate post on that.

Just like that, the week was over and it was time to turn my alarms back on. Isn’t it funny how the time goes so slow when the kids are in school but fast when they are out? I took the week to really relax. We could have gone out of town but I needed to just relax my mind. The kids have been stressed at school, I have been stressed being a single parent, and I needed a break from work. That’s our week in a nutshell.

Do your kids have a lot of breaks? Do you go out of town for every break?

It sounds and looks like you guys had a great fall break! We really don’t get one in Texas. I mean, we do get a few days the week of Thanksgiving, but not a whole week.

I want to try the Escape Room with my family! We’d probably bicker the whole time though.

Spring break is the big one around here. It’s the perfect time to head out of town on a little adventure.

We didn’t go out of town but our kids didn’t get breaks like they do now. Know my daughter her family can’t afford to go somewhere all the time.

Back in the day we didn’t start school at the beginning of August and have all those breaks either. I was visiting my dad in south GA when the hurricane hit last week. Oh, my. I survived the eye of the hurricane which was a cat 3 when it hit. My dad lost several huge pecan trees and we were without power and water for days. Good thing we stocked up before it hit.

Yes I agree school breaks or nothing like they were back in the day these Davis break for everything and then these kids have these extra School planting days thrown in between. It was nice you got a little break from the norm. I would have enjoyed the pop-up shop as well and can congrats to your son on getting a new belt. Honestly, here over at my house when there is a week off we don’t really go anywhere and we for sure don’t get out of town but maybe one day.

Sounds like you had a wonderful Vacation and what a pretty daughter and handsome son you have. Congrats to him on his White Belt. I wish my son would take those classes. As for the T Shirt business I can’t wait to hear more about it and the Escape Room as well.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. My daughters usually get long breaks during the holidays and that’s about it. They are lucky this year because they actually get a week off for spring break. It worked out perfect since we’re going on vacation then.

The kids here don’t get a week for fall break. Typically, they get a Thursday and Friday off in Oct. This year they only get a random Monday. Then, they get Election Day and the Monday before it. I’ll be working so we don’t have any plans.

Our kids only get a Winter Break and Spring Break, those are usually are 7 to 9 days off. They get three days for Thanksgiving, Wed., Thurs. & Fri. that is it and I am fine with that.

We don’t always go out of town for their breaks.

How fun! We don’t always go out of town because there are creative ways to enjoy yourselves right here. We had an unexpected break due to Hurricane Michael. The kids were out Thurs/Fri add the weekend to that and she basically had a mini vacation.

We didn’t go out of town for Fall Break either. At first, I thought the week would creep along. But it went rather fast. Our son went to a drop-in art class one day which switched things up a bit.

We don’t have lots of breaks, but I wish we did. It would give me more time to spend with my kids. My oldest isn’t out until Thanksgiving.

We don’t have Fall break up here and honestly, I’m glad. Between hurricane season, the school breaks, and snow storms the kids are already out of school way too much in my opinion.
