Go Shorty it’s ya birthday

We gonna party like it’s your birthday. Thank you to all of my birthday messages, texts, and calls. I feel so so loved. My birthday was yesterday and it was Amazing all weekend long. Dinner with friends on Saturday and Sunday was spent cheering on my daughter at her dance recital all day long. This birthday weekend was a simple one which I love. I am not one for all that extra stuff I like to keep it simple. There are three things that make my birthday special….here are my 3 things.

Cake

On my kids birthday, I normally pick a theme and then I get a cake to match the theme. My daughter got to pick my theme this year and she picked wonder women. I have a cake lady who does my cake but she has been slipping lately….I need another cake lady (if you know of one that is good in Atlanta let me know) the cake was decent but it wasn’t her best. Maybe she was off because her sister passed away and that can be hard. I will give her another chance but I need someone else on standby. You need a cake for your birthday! If you are on a diet find something sweet you can eat just for you on your day.

A new outfit

I didn’t buy anything new but the jacket. Everything I had in my closet for over 2 years that I never wore lol. I don’t dress up a lot so I tend to buy things and keep the tags on them until I decide to dress. I wear sweats all the time so my stomach can have room to flop down I don’t need anything constricting my tummy. Every birthday buy yourself something even if its some underwear always treat yourself because it’s your day.

Good friends

My friends outdid themselves by taking me out to a fab spot that I have never been. We ate good and had a blast! You know who your true friends are when they show up for your birthday and go above and beyond to make your day as special as it can be.

My birthday was spent with my daughter at her dance recital. I couldn’t think of anything better to do on my day than see her perform.

Birthdays aren’t big to me because it’s the week before Christmas my mom always got me one item (normally jewelry) and the rest were saved for the holidays. My mom never went all out so I never had a big bash with parties and stuff. Everyone was busy around the holidays so no one came to my parties and I got used to it. Every year I do those three things above and I am happy with it! This year though I want to start 2 new traditions number one I want to do something new. That can be going to a new restaurant, going to a play, going somewhere I’ve never been, etc. The second tradition I want to start is giving something away. I know most people do it for the holidays but I want to start on my birthday give someone else a gift. This birthday I paid for someone to take a plane trip to see their sister whom they haven’t seen in over 3 years due to money being tight. She put it in the atmosphere and I granted her wish. Making others happy makes me happy and that is the key to having an awesome birthday. What do you do special for your birthday?
