Easy homemade donuts with icing on top

I live in the country parts of Atlanta and the nearest Krispy Kreme is 30 mins away. When I want a donut I want a donut so I normally get them from Publix. While Publix donuts are good (don’t sleep on them) I still sometimes don’t feel like getting my lazy butt up to go to the store. I use to make donuts at home a while ago and forgot just how good they were so I decided to give you all this quick recipe for making donuts at home.

Easy homemade donuts

All you need are Pillsbury biscuits. I usually get the buttermilk ones.

Some oil. I use a huge frying pan big enough to put all 8 biscuits in. Put the oil on and let it get hot like you are frying chicken.

While the oil is getting hot take the biscuits and put a hole in the middle. I usually use a top from a soda bottle or something small and round to create holes. Use the extra dough to make balls.

Put the dough in the hot grease then flip it over to the other side. Eye it because it gets burnt really quick. Once it turns brown on one side turn it over to the other.

Take it out and let it cool down on some paper towels. While it’s cooling let’s make the icing

Easy homemade donuts

1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1-2 tablespoons milk
Mix each thing one at a time until it’s spreadable it could thicken over time but that’s ok. The results…your own homemade donut. Don’t forget the sprinkles! You can also dip this in brown sugar, nuts, cake icing, reg sugar, just the powder, etc. Be creative and make it fun!
