This post was based on a conversation I had with my daughter the other day about her wanting to go to the Ariana Grande concert. She has been playing this song nonstop for weeks I finally sat down and listened to it. She is almost 10 and here is how the conversation about Ariana Grande went down.
Ariana Grande Concert
Zaza: You like my hair geez thanks just got it done
Me: *peeps around the corner*
Zaza: My gloss is popping
Me: *looks at the vaseline….what gloss she talking about*
Zaza: I bought a crib…
Me: Wait now what crib you bought
Zaza: Oh hey mom speaking of cribs and things that I want….I wanna go to the Arianna Grande concert this summer you can get that for my birthday. Thanks
Me:ย
Zaza: Mom come on. I tell you what If I get all A’s on my report card then you have to take me.
Me: Ok let’s do that then. I will be praying that you get a B in math so
Zaza: Mom that’s so mean don’t you want me to get all A’s.
Me: I sure do but I don’t want to pay for Ariana Grande tickets because unlike you if I want it I gotta check my bills first before I can even try to get it and 9 times out of 10 I can’t get it.
Zaza: Oh I’m going to that concert.
Me: Is that a threat?
Zaza:….no of course not but I get what I want.
Of course, she does. Let me tell you something about this lil girl….she will bust her ass to get those A’s which she already has in all subjects except math. I don’t usually get what I want so please join me in a universal prayer so that she gets a solid B in math so I can save my coins.

I love this little book store in my area. Gone are the days of the big book stores.
I’m thinking of taking my daughter to Disney for her 12th birthday maybe her and a friend. Time to save coins now!
Great post about what teens want us to know about technology.
Look I know I am on my phone all the time which stops me from getting shat done.
I just bought my daughter a cell phone for her early birthday. How do you decide the right age for a phone?

April 5, 2019 at 2:15 amI’m surpised she’s into Ariana Grande, my 8-year-old doesn’t like her because apparently, Ariana said something negative about Americans? IDK lol I hope your daughter gets what she believes she deserves in exchange for that A.

April 6, 2019 at 3:27 pmI canโt wait to read your concert recap. ๐ She is clearly determined to go. I wish I could do this with my teen. He isnโt motivated in this way.

April 7, 2019 at 3:28 pmOh I loved reading this conversation. It was so funny. I can’t lie though that is a catchy song! One day she will fully understand how this all works.

April 8, 2019 at 11:04 amNot sure how this will work but… I’m rooting for you both? My kids rarely ask for big things, so when they do, they usually get them – but not without a lot of hard work. Good luck! I think you’ll have to save those coins though.
