Visit The Gulf Coast: Part 2

May 27, 2016

I was offered the opportunity to visit The Gulf Coast to conduct this review. All opinions are my own.

We are back with the second part of our trip to The Gulf Coast. If you missed part one make sure you check it out here.

The second full day in the gulf coast consisted of ….can you guess? Yep, another boat ride…I mean I can get use to this. This time, we were with Break A Way Charters. This boat wasn’t a slow moving boat either…you will move. We saw an eagle…first time I have ever been that close to one.

Next, we went horseback riding. My kids and husband have never been on a horse but I have, a long long long time ago. I forgot about how it felt on my lady parts……yeah it wasn’t good.

  • You think going down the beach is romantic and it is on horseback…if you have a fine husband (like myself) you can look back and pretend he is coming to sweep you on his horse and whisk you away
  • I am too big for a horse it took two people to get me on it….yes this means I need to lose some weight
  • My kids were pros….as they should be
  • It was a great way to see the beach but don’t do it alone if you aren’t familiar with a horse. I was happy we had a guide there because I was afraid that horse would take me for a long ride if I made one wrong move.

Big thanks to Broke-A Toe…yes that’s their name. You will not break your toe trust me.

After the horse ride, I decided to put my feet in the marsh. I grew up around marshland and it was a favorite past time of mine.

Now it’s time to eat. We had been eating so much seafood (which I love btw) that it was time to change the food up and eat some ole fashion ribs. For lunch, we had the Sand Bucket Smokehouse.

The food was great. That cole slaw….make sure whatever you do get the cole slaw. Best cole slaw I have had in a while.

Next, we took some time to just enjoy the beach, get some ice cream and get a t-shirt made. The t-shirts came from the Cape Trading Post. I will showcase the final t-shirts in our newsletter so make sure you stay tuned to that for more inside details on our trip which will come out on June 1st (sign up is to the right)

Time to walk off that ice cream and the ribs for lunch. Did I mention that I had just started my diet before I went on this trip….*sigh* I got to exercise though and go on my first bike ride in over 15 years. Bikes were provided by Happy Ours Kayak and Bike Outpost

If you don’t like bike riding you are free to go kayaking….I can’t swim so I didn’t know about that what if I flipped over….geez but hey live in the moment and always do something you have never done before.

Okay, it’s time to wind down for Friday. The perfect way to do that is to go on a sunset cruise with White Wale Charters

Perfect ending to a beautiful day. The cruise is a must if you go to St. Port Joe don’t leave without enjoying one. It’s peaceful and you get to reflect on life which is what I think the hubs is doing.

Okay, we have one more part to our visit The Gulf Coast series so make sure you stay tuned for our last part you won’t want to miss it.

It looks like you all enjoyed your trip! I am not a huge fan of water but it looks like it was relaxing for sure. I think the water is beautiful but I’m not a fan of the boat rocking. lol I love the shirts that you shared. I think they are always so cool!

I’m all in my feels right now. I’ve never been on a horse and I totally think it would be all romantical and stuff.

I love my BBQ with slaw.

    I’ve never really on a boat. 😫

I loved horse riding on the beach. I got to do it in Barbados and it was such a free feeling (until the horse got spooked by a jellyfish and bolted. Then it was just scary).
