Spiked Southern Lemonade

June 23, 2017

If you are from downsouth you know we love two drinks….Tea and Lemonade…..I prefer mine mixed together! Today let’s cool off with this neat summer drink that’s easy to put together and it’s just in time for that mid summer party that you forgot to invite me to *side eye*

**Makes about 23 ounces

  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 2 Shots Lemon Schnapps (2 Ounces)

  1. Combine sugar and water in a bowl and place in the microwave for 30 seconds. Remove and stir until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Combine all ingredients including the sugar water in a pitcher and stir well.
  3. Add as much ice as preferred.

Note: For virgin style, remove Schnapps and enjoy a nice southern style lemonade.

Now, even this looks, sounds delicious (which lemonade is), have you tried this without sugar? Then it would be a healthy drink and good for the teeth πŸ˜€ But still, with sugar its excellent. We have something similiar in the UK to this (cant remember what it is called) and its lovely during the hot summer months.

Yes I’m from the south and I have to have my sweet tea and lemonade. I remember my grandma making sun lemonade in the summer.

I’m in Tennessee and I love lemonade especially with Meyer lemons! If you’ve never had lemonade with Meyer lemons you must try it and your life will be changed

That’s a quick lemonade fix that can go spiked or not. It looks really thirst-quencher and can be prepared easily.

Lemonade is the absolute perfect summer drink! We don’t add alchohol to ours but we absolutely love our lemonade in our house!

This is a light and refreshing drink for summer. Garnished with lemon slice. I think this can be turned into an adult drink with the use of little vodka. This is one of the boozy beverage you won’t pass.

I think they call tea and lemonade mixed together an Arnold Palmer. A friend of mine introduced it to me. Anyway, this drink sounds refreshing and relaxing! Schnapps is good for a lot of fun drinks.

See, I have to keep my lemonade un-spiked because I would be a hot mess if I added anything else but sugar and lemons. Looks good though.

All these years I thought Schnapps only came in peach flavor! I clearly need to get out more.

I agree with Danika, I’d like to see how it tastes without the sugar and maybe a variation combining sweet tea into the recipe. Either way…looks like a great summer drink!
