Music is inspiring. I haven’t met one person who didn’t have a song they liked. I also have never met someone who couldn’t have their mood changed by a little music. If you work from home, sometimes a little pick me up is needed to get motivated to either get started or to keep going until work is finished. I’m not one to stick with just the modern songs either. Music from back in the day can be pretty inspiring. Check out my favorite songs that motivate me when I’m trying to get through a work day.
Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey – This song gets me pumped every time. Of course, I can’t help but belt the words out as I work as well. That’s the plus about working from home, you can sing as you work.
Eye of the Tiger – Survivor – Please don’t tell me you don’t get motivated by this song. It’s so catchy and upbeat that it feels impossible to not get moving with it playing.
Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough – Michael Jackson – Folks, it says it right in the song, don’t stop! Plus, a catchy Michael Jackson song pushes you to get a little boogie in your step which makes it easy to get a rush of inspiration.
Air – Bach – If you’re into classical music where there are no words and you need something a little more relaxing in order to think more clearly, this is your song. It’s very calming and makes your head feel much lighter.
Mister Magic – Grover Washington Jr. – Let me tell you, if you’re into jazz and need something upbeat to spur you on through work, keep this song on repeat and you’ll get your tasks finished in record time. It’s so upbeat and catchy but doesn’t have words to distract you.
Hymn for the Weekend – Coldplay – You know why I chose this song even before I explained why. Not only is this song inspiring with the beat but hey, if you get your work finished, the weekend is that much closer and boy, do those of us who work a 9-5 love the weekends!
Free to be Me – Francesca Battistelli – This song is so great and has been one of my favorites for years. You’re going to have bad days and every day holds its own challenges but don’t let that get you down. Push through that work day, rude people, confusing work, or not.
Confident – Demi Lovato – There’s nothing wrong with being confident in your work and your talents! Take it from Demi, people will say crap but as long as you know you’re doing your best, be confident in that!
Kill Em with Kindness – Selena Gomez – It doesn’t matter if you work from home or not, you’re going to have to deal with some annoying people and situations. Just kill them with kindness and keep your head about you!
That’s the Way it is – Celine Dion – There are some things in life that we can’t change. Let Celine Dion spur you on through your work day to work harder even through the things that can’t be changed!
