Orlando Vacation: Part 3

July 7, 2016

We are now wrapping up our vacation for the Orlando trip. Don’t forget to read part one and part two to see how our adventure went. So where did we leave off? Oh yeah…we are done with Disney let’s move on to Universal Studio……

So day 3 we got up early that morning because I had a breakfast date with some characters. Since we stayed onsite for Universal Studios we got to get into the park an extra hr early before everyone else arrived. Park opened up at 8 (normally 9) so we got there around 8:10 the park was packed and I was like who in the hell let the gate open…….

We started off with the Harry Potter ride which my son had to ride alone since I don’t ride rides. I was scared to send him by himself like I was low-key panicking but he did it and said it was super fun he wanted to do it again. No sir I can only take that once so since we had a breakfast date at 9 we couldn’t stay. So we wanted to hop on the train that would take us to universal studios (harry potter was in the Island of Adventures part) but the train was broken. So we had to walk all the way around to universal studio in time for the 9:30 character breakfast. We made it right on time!

That walk though….geesus.

We met Gru, The minions, and a few other people but I was only there for Gru…I mean really. That is by far my favorite movie! Gru made fun of my hair too and tried to make a mustache out of it…*side eye* My daughter could barely sit still the awe in her eyes to see the characters was worth every penny that I spent.

The breakfast place was cold as hell so I was glad to go back outside. We headed over to see ET and ride that ride which by the way….we had the express pass. While Disney World you had to schedule shat, over at Universal you just jump in the express line and keep it moving. Much more organized and faster. We didn’t have to wait for any rides and I mean none. The longest we waited was at the Despicable me ride and that was because someone threw up. That wait was 30 minutes all other rides 10 minutes or less. We rode almost every ride at Universal and the mummy ride was the best. I was tricked into getting on that ride because normally I don’t ride rides but my friend was like …..it’s inside how fast can it be.

Tips

  • There are two parks. Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure….I had ย no idea there were two parks until that day. Be prepared to walk your life away
  • Get the Express pass…please get it you will be happy that you did it’s worth every penny
  • Most of the rides were inside which was neat because it did rain a couple of times
  • A lot of the rides had lockers so you could put your things in there and get it out when done. Loved that!
  • Get the drink thing. It was 8 bucks and you can refill all day long. I got one for each of my kids and myself and they have stations where you can fill up. I made them get powerade or some type of juice no soda
  • Do the character breakfast and personally I would start off with that before you ride because if that train is broken….you may miss breakfast
  • Because we stayed on site we were able to go back to the hotel and rest up and then go back out to see the parade.

Let’s talk about this weather shall we……when we were headed back to our hotel it started thundering and lightning so the boat which brought us stopped working. We either had to walk back to the hotel (25 min walk) or catch a shuttle. My friend was like let’s go and get our exercise on……bish did we not just walk this park since 8am this morning. We walked and there were water all over the place I was scared an alligator was going to come out and this was before the incident at Disney. When we got back to the room I collapsed for a few hours and did not move.

Overall I enjoyed universal much better than Disney. Sorry all you Disney Fans but if I go back it will be for Universal Studio. There was one ride that was empty and my kids got on it a total of 6 times

If you ever visit Orlando make sure you do universal studios. I felt like this was the park for bigger kids like 8 and older. My son loved Universal studio much better than Disney and so did my 7 year old. There were parts of Disney that we loved and parts we didn’t but overall I had a great time as a whole. We ended up eating at Bahama Breeze on that evening too so the food options were good. We spent day 4 at Islands of Adventure and I didn’t bring my camera as I thought it was a good day to put it down and just enjoy the kids and have a good time.

Hope you enjoyed my trip to Orlando. If you have any questions please feel free to leave them in the comments you know I will tell you the truth.

How much fun! I’ve always wanted to take my kids, heck I’ve always wanted to go myself. Maybe I’ll have to put it on the books soon ๐Ÿ™‚

Looks like you had a blast! I’ve never been to universal studios before, which is odd considering the amount of times I’ve been to Orlando. My son is only 2 weeks old, but I look forward to taking him when he gets older. Although, I wouldn’t be opposed to my husband and I going by ourselves one year to have some “big kid” fun.

So much fun! I totally agree with your points especially the character breakfast and the express pass. LOVE not having to schedule the express rides. Orlando weather is completely annoying–I really only like it in February to be honest.

Look at those huge smiles on your kids’ faces! Oh, I love it! Looks like you all had a wonderful time away from everyday life, creating memories that will last forever! You’ve really made me want to start planning a trip to Orlando!

It looks like you had a blast and there is always so much to do in Orlando. It has been a long time since we were there and we are making plans to get there in the next couple of years. The weather in Orlando is not my favorite and we prefer to go in winter over summer.

It looks like the kids had such a wonderful time! I have very fond memories of Orlando and Disney. I can’t wait to take my kids. They are only 3 and 5 so I prefer waiting a few more years so they will actually remember the experience.

It has been forever since I’ve gone to Orlando. While Disney and Epcot have always been my favorites, I cannot wait until I get the chance to go to Universal! It looks like so much fun – or the kids and adults!

I am a Disney fan but I don’t discount the fact that characters in Universal Studios are also cute and interesting. What’s more, the activities inside are fun and interactive as well. It’s a good place where not only kids do enjoy but adults too as well.

I agree, Universal Studios is better than Disney since it’s more for the older children. We didn’t know about the two parks either when we got there, so I paid to do both. I’m glad we did it!
