My Travel Bucket List

Many of you know that I have never been on a plane. My fear came way before 9/11. I am afraid of heights and I don’t feel to comfy about planes shaking and stuff. I mean I know we all will die eventually and cars are just as dangerous but…I don’t feel right falling out the sky and then dying. I know that I have to face my fear though so I am gearing up to get on my first flight in the near future…probably not this year…that future is way to near but next year I want to tackle my biggest fear. I wanted to get a list together for places that I want to travel to. Some are near and some are far but this is great list for me.

Cruise

Not just any cruise. I want to go on the Disney Cruise. The rest of the cruise lines…well I hear to many bad things about them. I have not heard one bad thing about Disney. Not one…and how come (yes I said how come) with all of the kids on the Disney Cruise line they manage to not let anyone go overboard. We are planning Disney for next year but won’t go in the summer we will travel Disney off season like during the kids fall break or something.

Las Vegas

I am thinking of doing this for my 40th birthday. I think by that time I should have some flights under my belt and I can tackle this one with no problem. I mostly want to see some shows and party. I don’t know if I will be able to hang because well you know…I’m 40 but I will try my best to see the city of lights and party. What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Universal Studio

So I’ve been with the kids but I actually want to go back by myself with some adults…no kids allowed. I had a blast but when you are having to keep up with kids you can’t have a whole lot of fun. I prefer to check out Universal studio with some friends instead. Make it an adult trip. Read about our trip to Universal studio here.

Martha’s Vineyard

I have heard that it’s the place for snobby people. So I will have to put on my bougie hat for this one. I want to go so I can act rich for a few days lol. I am also getting into wines here all of a sudden so I need to taste test some things. I plan on going here alone…maybe for my birthday next year. I think that would be a great getaway trip. Imagine me drinking wine and eating lobster on the beach. I wonder if I can find a rich man to take me………………….

New Orleans

I have been years ago for Mardi Gras but haven’t been back since. I am definately not going during hurricane season so if I go it will have to be in the early parts of the year. This may make a great getaway if I can find that rich man. I would do this with my girl too and plan a girls trip.

Hawaii

While everyone else wants to go to other pretty blue water places I frankly want to go to Hawaii. I have never been but I think this is a great place to relax. This is the place I imagine myself being at when money automatically comes into my account from my many different businesses. You know…waking up at the beach and then I get a ding ding on my phone saying a couple thousands were deposited in my account….yep.

Australia

So I know this is out of the ordinary but I have always been fascinated with Australia. Something about the great outback and the kangaroos has me like….hmmmm. This is a place I wanna visit. I remember hearing about Sydney and doing a report on the place while in school and I have always wanted to visit.

If you can’t make it out of town try doing a fun bucket list just because with yourself or your kids. Here are a few things you can do if money is tight or you just don’t want to leave your nest

  • Discover your city or your state. There are many things to do in GA that I have not even begun to tap into
  • Drive in movie…my kids and I have not done this yet but we can’t wait to try it
  • Go exploring at a park and take a hike. Most of these are free and it gets you in tune with nature
  • Try a new restaurant every weekend. This was something I use to do before I had kids. It was fun to try out new places around town

What are some things on your bucket list that you want to do? It doesn’t have to be travel related it could be just something you want to do!

You have a fantastic list here! I’d also love to go on a cruise–and to Las Vegas. I did go to Hawaii years ago and hope to return–it’s wonderful there.

I’m not afraid of flying, but I do pray before every single takeoff! I would love to travel to London and Paris. I need to get my husband on board because he wants to go to Italy and try all the scrumptious food. Oh, and Greece. I’d love to visit Greece.

You and I have a very similar bucket list. I have been wanting to go on a Disney cruise for years but have yet to be able to afford it. One of my big bucket list items is Australia and I cannot wait until I can go.

Super bucket list! I do NOT want to go on a cruise but I DO lol. I worry that everyone will get sick, but a Disney cruise would be amazing! I have been to Universal, but I want to go back because the 2nd part of the Harry Potter World wasn’t built when I went.

Traveling to Italy is on my travel bucket list. We have family there and I’d love to visit them. They’ve been here to the states but I’ve yet to visit them in their homeland.

This is a great list. I’ve been to a few on there and I would also like to go to Australia and Hawaii. I like in Massachusetts and I haven’t been to Martha’s Vineyard, I keep telling my husband I want to go there and Nantucket.

I was afraid of flying but quickly overcame it because I knew I wanted to see the world and that’s really the only way I was going to get there. To this day, I don’t enjoy it and go to sleep as soon as I get on there for take off. I have motion sickness so I can’t stand to look while we take off. I love your list and although I have many places in my mind I need to jot them down on a list. I’m looking forward to reading about your first flight experience in the near future. Thanks for sharing!

Nice bucket list. It is always good to have a list, but I would strongly recommend looking at place and enjoying the experience by living that moment rather than focusing on ticking of places.

That is a great list. We would love to take the kids on a Disney Cruise but not sure that will happen anytime soon. We are hoping to travel to Singapore this year. We got hit by hurricane Irma and the house had some damage so not sure if we’ll still make it but I still have hope.

A Disney Cruise is high on my list! I’ve been on a cruise before, but it was on a smaller ship. I’d love to experience a huge, city-like one! There are SO many countries on my travel list, I wouldn’t even know where to start.

I am loving you list of places you want to visit! I also want to visit Hawaii, that is a dream place for me! I went to Europe when I was a teenager, but my husband and I would love to go and take our kids with us, visiting France, England, Scotland and Italy. Hopefully we can make it happen one day!

I am with you on this. I was also afraid of flying for very similar reasons, and 9/11 didn’t help. But I realized I missed out on a huge opportunity because people knew I was afraid to fly, I said ‘no ma’am’ and the next opportunity that came around in 2015, I said ‘book my flight’. I haven’t looked back since. I had a long talk with God and said ‘please hold on to my fear because its not serving me’. I discovered that I actually enjoy flying! It’s very surreal to me that I’m actually in the air – I sorta imagine that I’m still touching the ground as crazy as that sounds. My next thing is to extend my flight times – the longest flight I’ve been on was about 5 hours. I finally got a passport this year and I’m ready to use it.

I would like to do a cruise. I would also like to visit the Maldives. I am really good with anywhere that has a beach. Now Las Vegas…I am about 3 hours away and I love that place. I am not afraid of flying, although, I do catch myself looking at folks on the plane with me because, well, you never know but I always make sure to say a prayer and I’m all to the good.

I have been to Vegas and stayed at a resort hotel about 20 minutes away in the desert. I had the time of my life and it was on business, so all on my department’s dime LOL!! My bucket list includes Paris, France, A Mediterranean Cruise, Puerto Rico (praying for all those in need right now) Dominican Republic and Montreal.
