My Front Porch Christmas Decor + Trends for 2017

I am not a decorator so I had to hire someone to come and decorate my front porch for me last year. Luckily I have the same things I had last year and was able to put it up this year. I am minimal and try not to go overboard when it comes to Christmas Decorations. I am also cheap but I like nice things. This year I want to give you all a peek of my front porch which is not really a real porch but it’s the outside of my door lol. Let’s start with the thing most people want to steal when they come to my front door…..Rudolf

Every time someone comes to my front door they try to take my baby. They can’t have him. I am going to be selfish and won’t even tell you where I got him from you will have to google him. He is the main attraction to my front door

Next is my light up tree. It’s the other highlight of my front porch.

Of course, your front porch or door won’t be complete without a wreath. I love wreaths that don’t look like everyone else. Try to shop on Etsy so that you can be different. You know everyone goes to Target and Walmart for their wreaths try someplace new or have your handmade

My entire front porch setting cost around 80 bucks and these are priceless pieces that can be reused over and over again.

Now let’s talk about some unique trends I’m seeing this holiday season

  • A cardbord box Christmas tree….yes I know this is for the laziest of lazy people but hey it works. I would not put this in my living room but maybe a child’s room
  • Stockings that aren’t your regular stockings that you can get from anywhere. People are going all out for their stockings this year and you should too
  • There are a few things I love from this list….never thought about a Hawaii tree

However, you decorate your front porch just please make sure you don’t do anything tacky. Some people look like they just stand in their front yard and throw things on the porch and hope they land somewhere neat and nice.

Do you decorate the outside of your house for the holidays? Where do you shop besides the normal places like Walmart and Target?

Your porch looks great, I love the reindeer. I’ve never seen a cardboard Christmas tree. My Mom has always gone all out for stockings, we have never used anything we actually wore.

That reindeer is adorable, I love him. My porch is a lot like yours, it’s just the outside of the front door. Other than a wreath, I haven’t done anything to it.

Love your front porch decor! The reindeer is so cute. I don’t go over-the-top either and once Christmas is over, it’s so easy to put away.

I really like your decor! We mostly decorate with lights outside. I don’t really have anything beside our door. But I do decorate inside!

My husband made several of these reindeer couple of years ago. Love the look of your front porch. Simple but beautiful and perfect for the space you have to work with.

It’s so cute! Okay, I’ve really got to step my game up. Since I’ve relocated I haven’t put anything for the Holiday, but next year I have to. This would be the perfect way to spread a little cheer to everyone that comes by and walks by.

I love this comfy winter aesthetic! It reminds me of some of my childhood memories up north with all of the pine trees!

Your front porch looks so nice. I will have to make a wreath for my front door. I am a little behind in my decorating.

I love decorating for the holiday. This year we wrapped our door with gold foil wrapping paper and a giant bow. The door looks like a giant gift wrapped box. We put a wreath by the carport door and holiday themed mats at both doors. I NEED that reindeer log. That is a beautiful piece.

Your front door looks so festive and welcoming. For me, I love to use real items as decorations over the storebought ones as well because I feel like they add character and I love the smell of pine needles in the winter!

I’m so tired of Chicago and their janky front porches. One of my biggest dreams is to have a wrap around porch that I can sit on and fuss at the neighborhood kids for torturing other kids. I also need to be able to stand out far enough to yell and call my kids back home when the street lights come on. Your Christmas decor is great, and I’m going to brainstorm how I can decorate such a small space.

That reindeer is so cute! I would want to have something like that on my front porch. This year, we decided to “downgrade” our decorations and went for a two color theme – gold and red. The tree turned out pretty awesome, I must say.
