Mornings are not my thing + Links for the week

I am not a morning person. I think its because I stay up late at night working. It’s quiet and for some reason, I feel more creative at night than in the daytime. I normally do things around the house during the day or work on Sweetgrass Roots so I save my blog for the night. Our morning routine starts at 5:45 in the morning. I have an alarm set because although I can get up early I can’t get up that early. I wake the baby up first since she usually gets up on the first wake up call.  Dman, on the other hand, is slow to get up he walks around like a snail.

Most mornings I fix breakfast at home. What do we normally have? Cereal, Bagels, PopTart, Sausage biscuit, muffins, and their favorite oatmeal. ( I can’t stand oatmeal at all eeewwww) BTW do your kids eat like 2 packs per bowl or is it just mines?

After breakfast, we normally sit around and either watch the news, talk about what is expected of each child for the day, or finishing up HW. Then we are off to the car. Sons school is about 15 minutes from me but with traffic and school buses, I leave home 30 minutes early just to give me extra time just in case something goes down.

Kids normally go back to sleep but occasionally you will hear a conversation like this

Zaza: Mom can we stop to Dunk (dunkin donuts) and get a donut

Me: No not this early

Zaza: Why oh I know cause we will be hyper and we don’t want that

Me: Exxxxaccctlly

Dman: But we are already hyper it may calm us down

Me: No….no it won’t. But then again Y’all going to school so I can stop because it won’t be my problem once I drop you off

Dman: So you gonna stop

Me: probably not people are always in line up there and we don’t have time to wait (normally the line pours out into the street, its the only coffee place out here in the country so everyone flocks to it)

Dman: *whispers to Zaza* I wonder if mom would be hyper if she had coffee cause my teacher is very bright in the mornings and it’s too early for that.

What time do you get up in the mornings?

Do you need an alarm?

We are a house full of morning people, so we get a lot done before 7 am. Oh I am totally with you on the oatmeal thing….it looks like barf in a bowl and I can’t even gag it down. Neither can my kids.

I’m such a morning person! I get up bright and early between 4-5 am ready to conquer the world. My husband, on the other hand, is a night owl, but we make it work.

I would say that I’m a morning person. I love waking up and getting ready for the day but there are also days wherein I’d just sit and get lost in a book or an article.

Mornings are the best for me. Of course we have animals to feed and water before evening starting our own personal day. Afternoons now I could always use a nap.

Oh man, I am NOT a morning person and I basically sit there half asleep. There are very little conversations. My daughter is normally half asleep too, so I have to be more alert to make sure she gets on the bus on time. Then my son stumbles down the stairs also half asleep. We are NOT morning people. Basically don’t try to speak to us until noon.

It’s so weird because I often go back and fourth. When I was younger I was SUCH a morning person but now I’m the definition of a night owl. It’s especially hard waking up early in the winter since the sun doesn’t even come out until 7!

I guess I do okay during mornings but I wouldn’t say that it was every day! I really appreciate you sharing your links, it’s easier to keep track of the posts that I missed!

Kita, I am a morning person M-F, but on the weekend, no ma’am Pam, I wanna sleep in. My kids are pretty much morning folks ‘cept that youngest son of mine. His morning struggle is so real. On another note, you’re not up on the air fryer? If you love your crockpot, you may want to invest in an air fryer.

I definitely get the winter blues every season. It’s hard not to! Love your list of links but that winter blues article really was a great read.

I am definitely a morning person. I naturally wake up really early and am ready to get to work. However, my husband and younger daughter are the exact opposite!!

I don’t do mornings too well. I’m not really anxious to wake up and get going….maybe its winter time…I don’t know. I just know I’d rather be in bed. LOL

I’m also not a morning person as I get more creative and rich with ideas at night. I like how smart your exchange is with regards to dunkin donuts.

I am really not a morning person! My husband is and we have three kids, two wake up in the sunshine-iest moods ever right away in the morning. My daughter is just like me and stumbling around until she eats. Me, I need my coffee.

I get up at 6am to tell Michelle to get up, then I go back to sleep for an hour. I wake up again to take her to school. Once I return home, I wake up Lauren so she can get ready for school. After Lauren is dropped off, I either go to the gym, or go back home for a nap. I, too, usually work at nights, and I be tired in the mornings.

I have really weird hours. I go to bed early, around 9pm or 10pm, then wake up at 3am to do online work till 6am and then start breakfast for the family.. I love the quiet mornings when I can spend precious alone time. By the time every one is out, I go back to sleep! So yes, I am not a morning person.

I use to be a morning person. In the winter when it’s cold, I have the hardest time getting out of bed. Can’t we have summer weather all year long.

I am a morning person, I’m usually a chipper person any time of the day. Oh wait, unless I’m hungry, then I’m not a nice person. My kids aren’t really into oatmeal but they will eat multiple toaster strudels for breakfast.

I always deny being a morning person because I hate the whole Get Up part but once I’m there I tend to be super productive in the silence before the rest of the world wakes. So I dunno – perhaps mornings are my thing 😉

I am a morning person now, but not by choice! LOL I prefer to be a night owl, but because I have five kids (!!!), the early morning time is the only time I can get some peace and quiet! LOL
