I’m going to be myself this Halloween + Wed Links

I have never dressed up for Halloween…ever. My friends invited me to a haunted house and the introvert in me gave them every excuse in the book…..

Friend: Hey Kita we are going to a haunted house this weekend you should come

Me: No thanks….there is a haunted spirit on my couch that I need to see about

Friend: Kita stop being scary and do something fun for Halloween

Me: I am going to do something fun eat candy that my kids will bring home from school and stuff

Friend: You can dress up and be something fun……maybe you can dress up and be someone who dresses up (my friends know I live in sweats and I don’t dress up)

Me: That sounds like a great idea! How about you imagine me wearing heels and being dressed and if you see it in your mind it’s kind of like I’m there

Friend: You are so difficult and stubborn. If you could dress up what would you be?

Me: Difficult and stubborn….in sweats……because that’s who I am. I will always be myself for Halloween

Are you dressing up? What will you be this Halloween?

Here are some fun Halloween Links for the week

I’m will never carve out pumpkins anymore because I can do this instead

My kids want to watch scary movies but then their scared afterwards….I mean it’s just casper

I was going to make some sweet potato pancakes this week but this looks scarier.

Did you all know that Halloween and Caramel Apple day falls on the 31st. I know what I can do with my apples……..

My trashcan bags are expensive I would have to use the dollar store ones for this

Need something extra on your table for Halloween? This will be easy to make

If you have an amusement park somewhere around make sure you check them out. We had fun at six flags last year!

My last link is about education….I fear that the most for my kids and that is one of the reasons I have stayed in GA. I take pride in making sure that they go to the best schools and I sacrifice a lot for that. Education is the key to make it out here in this world and I want my kids and other kids to have access to that. It’s scary to think that some of these schools are failing us big time. I want to make mention of a brand new school in Brooklyn, NY. Spread the word about this amazing school and find out how you can help them be greater by going to their website. Education scares me more than these goblins and ghosts on Halloween

I am not dressing up this year either. I did go to a haunted house this year, though, but no one dresses up for those πŸ™‚

I’m not dressing up this year. At least, I don’t plan to. One of my kids asked me if I would, so I’m considering it.

I want to dress up but I think I will not be this year. Loved reading this, so fun to hear conversations that happen in other peoples lives. Enjoy Halloween πŸ™‚ And that candy πŸ™‚

I’m with you on adult costumes and education. And I have kids in the NYC public school system – I’m going to check out the school you mentioned in Brooklyn.

I’m not dressing up this year. It’s a lot of work. I’m just passing out candy on the porch.

I only dressed up when we did Halloween at Disney. It is super cold here on Halloween, so I usually break out winter gear to take the kids around the neighborhood.

Great post! I like Halloween and I love it now that my son is old enough to enjoy it. I won’t dress up this year, but it will be fun to see my little guy go trick or treating.

I’ve never really dressed up for Halloween as an adult, but my adult child looks forward to it every year. This year she’s trying to figure out a costume that will work for her siblings as well so they can dress as something related. They’ve had some really cute ideas.

I haven’t really dressed up much since I’ve been an adult, but I always loved it as a kid! I can’t wait to have children to dress up – it’s so much fun!

I haven’t worn a costume since childhood, ain’t nobody got time for that! If I get one minute of spare time I am opening a bottle of wine, grabbing some truffles and hitting the couch for a horror movie marathon! Sadly they never scare me, but I still enjoy watching them.

I’m not dressing up. As for education…I agree, the best schools can make a big difference. I work at a poorly rated school, and the education the kids are getting is minimal…not because of the teachers, but the lack of discipline is hard to instill when they’re in upper grades and used to being disruptive (not to mention used to avoiding tasks because they know they’ll just get passed along anyway). I love that you’re willing to do what it takes to ensure your kids have better.

Halloween is my favorite holiday so I go a little bit overboard on this one. I think it’s because I love treats! Dressing up is fine, but I totally don’t need that part.

The only time I dress up for Halloween is if it is a required activity at work. I am totally like you – shirts and sweats are my jam. Going out? Jeans, tee and sneakers. πŸ™‚ I will let the kids enjoy dressing up. I am happy just seeing all the kids in unique costumes knocking on my door for some candy.

I haven’t been dressing up for a long time. But then again I also don’t have kids to accompany on parties or trick or treating. It’s nice to just relax though and just have your own fun with the family.

Sounds like a pretty awesome plan. I definitely prefer it that way than to put to much pressure on myself about dressing up and all that.

I’ve dressed up a few times for Halloween with RJ. Last year I went to an adult Halloween party for the first time. It was fun, I’d do it again.
