Growing a business with Pinterest

Growing a business is a tough project. It takes a lot of trial and error to see what will reach the audience you are geared towards. Sometimes you can do what you’ve seen others do and it won’t work at all. It’s baffling but each business has its own specific draw that works for it. However, there are always some basic things you can do that are guaranteed to bring at least a bit of traffic to your business and that’s social media. To be specific, Pinterest. Pinterest is a very popular site that sees endless traffic daily. Being able to make your business known on Pinterest is a good way to help it grow. You just simply have to know how to do and then actually do it. That’s it.

Do you have the pin it button on your business page? If you don’t have the pin it button on every photo of your page as well as at the top of your page, you’re doing it wrong. Plaster that thing everywhere so people, in no way, will miss it. This will ensure you get pins and the more pins you get, the more traffic to your business you get.

Use Rich pins. Pinterest has a few different types of rich pins to match any type of business and its needs. For example, if you have a recipe, there is a rich pin that allows you to add the ingredients in a neat list to the bottom of the pin. I’m sure all of us have seen this and find it very nifty. At least I know I do. There are other types of rich pins like this that simply draw more traffic to your pin which in turn brings you more traffic to your business.

Make your photos pin-worthy. This means don’t have mediocre photos and expect people to be head over heels about it. Bright, eye-catching photos are what draw people in so keep that in mind. The longer photos are what work best on Pinterest. Keep them at a minimum of 700×1000 pixels and your pin will fit nicely into Pinterest, including the mobile app! Outside of that, inspire people with your photos. Usually beautiful photos of food will inspire people to want to cook it. Saying something deep inspires people to think. Inspiration comes in many forms and can be fit into anything you pin from your business.

Get into conversations with your commenters. It’s rare for people to comment on Pinterest photos but when they do, answer them back and don’t be short about it. Try to engage them. Often turning the comment around to them or asking them a question about themselves in connection with the pin is a good way to get them talking. People love personal connections and people love telling others about neat interactions they had. This in turn leads their friends to your page, etc. It’s all connected. A little goes a long way.

These are only a few tips concerning growing your business using Pinterest. There are still so many things you can do on top of these to help your business grow through Pinterest. Start with the basics and work your way up, you won’t regret it!

I love Pinterest. If you take really great pictures, you can get some real traffic, but the pictures MUST be on point. There’s no two ways about it.
