Date night ideas around Atlanta

Valentines Day is coming and coming fast. While I don’t like going out on Valentine’s Day there is nothing wrong with going out before or after Valentine. If you are in Atlanta or traveling here soon here are some great date night spots and ideas that you can do in and around Atlanta.

Muss and Turners – I don’t like boring dinners. I like to do different things. Take a look at their event page to do some different things

Ruby Falls – If you like outdoor adventures make sure you check out this place! I would do the aerial ziplining after I screamed the entire time first

Escape the Room Atlanta – I want to do one of these but I need a good team because I would get lost and I would not escape alone.

The Army Aviation Heritage Foundation and Museum – Helicopter rides are so cool. I know a guy who took his girlfriend on one and I was jealous when he told me. I want to find a man who will take me on a helicopter ride *pouts*

Movie Drive Through – Going to a drive-in movie is so cute and it’s not just for the young folks. This gives you a chance to talk without interruption and get to know your date (if it’s a new date)

Gunshow Atlanta – I hate the same boring old places that you eat at all the time. I am always in search of somewhere new. This is something unique and different.

The Cook’s Warehouse – I love to cook and I love a man that can eat. The perfect combo would be a date night learning how to cook a new dish

Spend the night at Hyatt Perimeter – This makes a great night out. You can spend the night on Saturday and then stay for their Sunday Brunch.

Wine Tasting – Check out your local spots in your neighborhood. If you want to travel though try Dahlonega. They have the best wine tasting adventures right here in GA and it’s not a long drive at all

Fernbank after Dark – If you love nerdy things (my late husband was a nerd) this is the place to be. You have to be 21 and older and this is a unique twist on a fabulous place

My hubs and I didn’t have money when we first started dating so one of the things we did was create a cheap date idea jar. We would put unique ideas in the jar and once a week we would shake the jar up and pick something from it. On the first of every month, we would each write 4 things in the jar so every other week we get a turn shaking the jar and picking something from it to do. We could not spend any more than $10 for each date. Some of those ideas can be….

camping downstairs (we told horror stories one time he actually had someone knock on the door to scare me)

cook a meal together (under 10 bucks)

Play Karaoke (and film it for revenge later)

Take a nighttime walk at the park (go to a park that’s lit)

Play spades or learn a new board game (sex games are okay here)

Fix something together (he had this in the jar multiple times I guess he was trying to tell me something)

Paint (this was in the jar too we would repaint the walls if something was on it or paint a canvas at home)

Netflix and Chill with homemade popcorn (we had to eat the flavored popcorn that the person choose to make)

Those are just some fun things to do because trust me I know how it is when money is tight.

What will you be doing this Valentine’s Day?

What great ideas! I haven’t been to Atlanta yet, but I hope to go soon. I want to check out the World Of Coke, the aquarium, plus Stranger Things is filmed there and my daughter wants to check out all the places depicted in the show.

You have some good suggestions in that list. My husband and I haven’t had a date night in ages, we’re on completely different schedules.

These all sound like a lot of fun. I haven’t been to Atlanta in about 19 or 10 years! I guess I didn’t realize there was so much to do.

I loved all your specific ideas around Atlanta and I loved all the ideas that anyone could do! We love to chill in front of Netflix and try popcorn flavors. Our favorite is butter, pepper and Truffle salt.

I don’t mind going out before or after either. Sometimes choosing unpopular days for date nights means fewer crowds.

These are some really good date night ideas. I love Cook’s Warehouse. I took a class there and it was amazing. The classes were small. I think there were about 10-12 of us and the food we prepared was soooooo… good. Definitely a great date night idea.

I’ve been to Savannah but unfortunately didn’t make it to Atlanta. It is so pretty there a big city and lots of things to do.

First let me say I love the idea of the jar! And you’d be surprised how creative a person can get when pressed for cash.

I want to try an escape room, but I was told by employees of a couple of them that it is better in groups. Some won’t even allow you to come in as 2 you have to have at least 4 people which kinda sucks.

These are all great ideas, I like the cheap date ideas in a jar. Every date with your spouse doesn’t have to be expensive. I wanted to go to Ruby falls but didnt have time to do so .

My goal this year was to date my husband. Unfortunately, we’ve been too busy to do anything outside of our home. With our anniversary approaching, I booked a trip and I don’t plan to cancel. The ruby falls sounds like a date my hubby would enjoy.

I love that idea of a date night where you have a chance to learn to cook a new dish. That would be so awesome. I love to cook and so does my husband. I think our enthusiasm rubbed off on one of our sons and now he is studying to be a chef!
