Crockpot French Toast with Challah Bread

I am all about cooking more at home and not eating out especially when it comes to breakfast foods. Crockpot french toast is the bomb if you want a great meal the next morning. I use a crockpot that has a timer. So it cuts off overnight + also mornings are not my thing and I go to bed late so this is the perfect meal for me to put on when I am off to bed around 1 or 2am in the morning.

First get Challah Bread from your local bakery. I only use Challah bread for my french toast

1 Loaf of Challah Bread

8 Eggs

2 cups Milk

1 tsp Cinnamon

1 tsp Sugar

For the Topping

¾ cup Brown Sugar

½ cup softened Butter

2 tsp Cinnamon

Cut the bread into roughly ¾” thick slices.

Mix together all topping ingredients in a small bowl and set aside.

Spray the inside of your 6 qt. crockpot with non-stick spray or line with slow cooker liner

In another bowl beat together eggs, milk, cinnamon and sugar and set aside.

Place a layer of bread into your slow cooker. Then top with a layer of topping. Repeat for remaining layers.

Pour egg mixture over the bread.

Cook for 4 hours on low (or for 8 hours on the warm setting)

Serve and enjoy!

Tip: Right before you eat take the top off the crockpot for about 10 minutes that will brown and harden the top for you just a bit.
I am all about cooking more at home and not eating out especially when it comes to breakfast foods. Crockpot french toast with challah bread is the bomb if you want a great meal the next morning.

My dad has been making this for years. It’s his signature dish actually. We ask for it all the time because it’s SO good.

French toast is one of my favorite breakfast recipes. I really enjoy it because it’s simple but it’s SO good. I think this one’s awesome, with the crockpot and the challah bread. Nothing makes this more perfect.

I love French toast! And I love that you used challah bread. It really gives it a nice flavor, that French bread doesn’t.

I have never tried that brand but I can only imagine it would taste great as the French toast. I will have to try something like this I am sure my family would wolf for down the second I make it.
