So I got my bill for Jan from my car insurance company been with them for over 15 yrs never have too many problems with them this is maybe like my 4th problem in the last 15 yrs. To me, that’s an excellent record. I normally don’t look at my bill because it’s the same thing every month but Zaza got a hold of it and said she was teaching her dolls about bills……..girl stop, so I took the bill from her. I glanced and saw that my bill was 300 something dollars I was like whaaaaaaa so I opened it all the way up to see why and they have an extra 52 bucks on there from what I had no idea. I called them on Monday I thought for sure they would be open I got no answer so I called corporate.

Me: Yes hi I am calling my local car insurance agency they seem to be closed and I was calling about an extra 50 bucks on my bill

Corporate: All agencies are supposed to be open what’s the name of your agency

I give the name they put me on hold………

I get a beep on my phone it’s my agency dammit I love when corporate gets shat done. I clicked right on over

Agency: Ms Bryant we are in the office today you must have called the wrong number

Me: Haha you are funny I called the number directly on my bill which is the same number you just called. I was born yesterday but not last night

Agency: We are right here I don’t know why no one picked up. Anyhow how can we help you? You have been such a faithful customer to us we would like to offer……….

Me: I ain’t call about all that why is my bill up 50 something dollars

Agency: Ms Bryant let me put you on hold so I can take a look

Holding…….

Agency: Ms Bryant we will have to call you back I don’t know why your bill is this high and we can’t seem to figure it out.

Me: You got one hour or I will be calling back.

They called me back in 20 min

Agency: We think we charged extra for one of your insurances. Please disregard that for now and send in your regular payment.

Me: you think…….fine I need your name so I can write down date and time

Agency: Oh Ms Bryant you are fine I already documented it in the system

Me: Good now give me your name so I can document it in my system

I don’t play with these people when it comes to my bills. Always check your bills even if they are the same thing every month. My cell phone provider does that shat to me all the time adding extra stuff to my bill and on the bill, it doesn’t really say why.

    OMG that has happened to me before with charges being added in error, but if you had paid it would they have credited your account or just taken your money??

      probably credited to my account the cell phone people do that when I catch them. Most won’t give you the money back

    I always check all my bills for extra charges or something that doesn’t look right. Insurance company made a mistake one time. But we had taken a car off and added a truck so think paperwork was crossed in the mail. They corrected it in no time and all was well.

    It pays to check your bills for mistakes. Good thing your daughter had opened it for you while she taught her doll about paying bills. Love it!

    As a young child my Mom always told me to check every single bill. I never understood why until she would find extra charges and things posted (or not) in error almost every month.

    Yes, I always check my bills as well. If it raises more than $5, I call. Most of the time I’m told it’s because of added fees or taxes. Ugh. Bills need to stay the same, dang it.

    I love that you are doing something for your kids on valentines day. I’m nearly 30 years old and married for four, my dad still gets me a box of chocolates for valentines day and I love I everytime.

    I don’t blame you for calling. They do stuff like this and I’m sure most times they get over on people because they don’t pay attention. I’m glad you were on it and got it taken care of.

    I am also really trying to step up my Pinterest game this year too! I’ve spent this whole month focusing on Pinterest and I’m already seeing a huge increase in traffic to my blog.

    I’ve started to check my bills more and more, although it’s often the same every month I’ve noticed a few little fess accumulating here and there. Your daughter teaching her dolls to pay bills, LOL! My daughter is the school nurse and all the dolls have the flu, it’s been interesting.

    My husband is always on top of things like that, especially the cable bill. We have a locked in rate for two years and sometimes it’s higher when we didn’t rent any movies. I kind of feel bad for the person on the other end of that phone call. Always keep on top of it or they’ll take advantage.

    Our car insurance went up…their excuse was the national average or some kind of crap. I hate how companies aren’t there to help their customers, but are only about the all mighty dollar.

    That happened to our insurance one month. It just didn’t take out the multiple car and homeowners discount all of a sudden and only for one month. It took them awhile to figure it out also.

    First of all, pretzels are life.
    Secondly, always check your bills for errors. ALWAYS. Once my phone company was trying to double dip our accounts. NO. Just stop it. I’ll get in my car and drive on over to your station in the mall and slap your hand with the rolled up statement…then promptly apologize because Susan was not the person in the wrong. Sorry Susan but someone had to get it. I’m kidding, I would never resort to physical violence. Getting bills makes me sweat. Speaking of which, those Christmas ones are rolling in. EEEKS

    Yes, it’s so important to check bills. It’s an easy step that can save a lot of money. I once had the electric company mis-read my electric meter and calling the company that month saved me over a hundred bucks!!

    I hate when there are charges on my bill that no one can vouch for. I also like to take down names and numbers so that it can’t be disputed later! Good call on that one!

    I need to have you call for me when I have an issue with a bill. I like how you were straight forward and did not take any BS from them! I tend to be too nice, even when I know they are in the wrong, it is something I need to work on.

    I can feel you I hate insurance company all they care is taking out your money. They sometimes over charge you or charge you twice and thinking maybe you wont catch it.

    Oh I hate being put on hold or being told that they have to call back. Good luck if they do! I am a bill-reader and if something isn’t right, I am right on the phone asking for an explanation.

    Yes, even though I pay almost everything online I still make sure I have paper statement and I look at them each time!!! I’m like you I don’t play with that stuff!

    I always give my bills a thorough review. I don’t like it when there are “charges” for a service I did not request for. I usually immediately call for resolution of the issue and I don’t want to be put on hold!

    That conversation regarding the bill is something I will do as well even if it is an increase of $5. I don’t play with my money. There is a reason I am an avid planner.

    Yes, I learned this the hard way. You also have to check those receipts at the grocery store. I was overcharged by $15 one day.

    LOL Lawd I thought you were about to pop off on these people! I check every now and then to make sure. I’ve noticed a dollar or two difference in my phone bill but I’ve never questioned because it’s a dollar or two. Lol But a whole damn $50? OMG!

    You are correct. Definitely, check your bills. This happens to me with my cell phone bill as well. They think people won’t notice.
